It looked like this:

Anyone know where to get this one, love the Bentley look

That was a one off creation. The company has no interest in producing them and does not know what happened to the one in the pic.

I couldn't find the one I was going to measure but I did follow a SLK32 AMG to Target last night. After the owner went into the store, I sneeked up and took some measurements. Now I am really confused. The SLK with the Crossfire grille appears to be using the whole gille. Our grille is seven inches from the bottom opening to the bottom of the Chrysler badge. The SLK openng was 5 inches on the car I measured. Maybe there are different size openings on the SLK?

There would also be a concern for the way the inside surface goes back from the opening.

When you look at the mesh on other performance cars you can't see the radiator and all that other crap. And the mesh is more substantial. A little thicker border and set it more at an angle that matches the factory grill. That one is to vertical

Also look at the gap between the grill and the wings? Its like 3 inches. If they could produce that with the mesh following the contour and placement of the factory grill then you'd have something.
I actually think this grille is well executed for the several reasons: I like that the mesh is on the same plane as the headlamp covers as it follows the intersecting plane design theme of the bodysides but instead the mesh grille plane overlaps with the bumper cover plane. Also, being set back as it is gives an almost venturi effect making the whole grille ensemble look like an air intake. The combination of a noticeable air intake with the long hood tells the observer that there is some performance contained within.

The gap between the wing logo and mesh is especially nice since it makes the wing look like it is "floating." Perhaps mounting a low voltage backlight behind the wing would futher enhance the floating effect and floodlight the shinning mesh at night and give a little Motorama drama to our production concept cars.

I also have no problem with seeing the radiator through the mesh as it makes the design more "authentic." The original mesh covers used in the 1920s and 30's were simply stone guards to protect the vulnerable radiator fins or the expensive vanes of the radiator cover.

I think this grille would look even more attractive on the more art deco-inspired coupe body.

Fortunately, beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Chris

is there a way we could get somebody to make grilles like that one-off for us? i just really like the way that one looks over all the others I've seen. I'm probably going to go to JRs Custom Auto here in Dallas after school tomorrow (its like 2 minutes away) with a picture and see how much they would charge to make tha (assuming they will). I'll let you guys know anything I find out

yeah unfortunately I ran out of time today to go. I ended up having to set up for some dinner that's going to be at the school. I'll call JR's in a little bit, and yeah sure no problem I can ask about it for you. Although just a warning. JR's isn't cheap. At all. They are really high quality and stand by their work for life, but they charge a LOT more ususally... just sayin

Those look the best in my eyes.
What about a Bentley style painted or chrome. The 1930's Delage autos had this type of grill also. Try googleing Delage image.

Bentley painted.
