Finally found a place to chrome plastic
These folks are in California, but you can ship your items. They seem to be reasonable and have a quick turn-around.
I shipped them a few items today. I'll let you know how it works out.

If you want further details on the process you can contact them. I sent them my oil filler cap, oil filter cover, and for the interior, the trim surround for the auto shifter. I don't see it as a high risk. I bought spare parts so I can still drive my car while they finish them. These are all small parts. They have a minimum charge of $20 per part, and they all fall in that category. So $60 to have them done. I'll take the risk, and let you know how they turn out.

I just found this in the dictionary today, I had to look out of sheer curiosity.

LMAO......I'm just glad you didn't get a different digit stuck in the air!
I am glad you are happy with the vacuum metalized parts. It is not chrome but from the photos it does look good. The Alsa corp stuff is kind of cool too. It is a paint and if appied well looks really good.

These Chrome "Palm Trees" (at a Bar) in Akron Ohio, need to be trasplanted to F.P.'s back yard.
Ooops, the photo didn't upload.
Anyway, take my word for it, they are real, and they're spectacular!
