how to take off the crossfire letters from the back of my Xfire?
Hello,
How is it possible to take of the letters c-r-o-s-s-f-i-r-e of the back of my limited xfire?
Are they just glued or are they like bolted in the trunk?
Would it leave some marks or if I wax the car correctly will the marks go away?
I don't won't to go to a car shop to do it, so is it possible to take them of like some persons in this forum?
Cheers

I took off the letters earlier this year and my car is a 2004. So the letters were on there for 4 years and after removal, you could not even tell they were there. Left no marks or different color paint (and my car is white).
To remove the sticky stuff I used GOO GONE and a tissue. Soaked the tissue and held it to the sticky stuff. After the entire process, I definitely gave the car a GOOD WAX.
I used a heat gun, then dental floss to take off the letters. Sprayed some WD-40 on it, let sit for 10 minutes to get off the bigger glue areas. Then I used a clay bar kit that I have to get the remaining reminents off the car.
You could also just wait for a nice hot day and pull the letters off by hand. Take your finger nail and catch the edge of each letter and pull it off...or just twist the letters off one by one with your thumb and pointer finger (or whatever fingers you prefer, lol).
Warning!
I seem to remember that someone removed the letters from their Aero Blue or SSB xFire and the paint had faded noticeably. Do a search for "debadging" I think it was.
Maybe if you remove ONE and after cleaning it, Take A CLOSE LOOK?
Just a thought.

Hi,
I will try something to take them off, maybe the tape and dental floss.
My car has now 4,700 miles on it so it's almost nothing. The car has always stayed in a garage so hopefully there will be no mark when I will remove them.
Thx to everyone for the suggestions.

So in other words, I should have no problem if I take them of. I should not take the un into account and the car has stayed in the garage for a year. That what explains the really low Miles, 4800
