Question Removal of pillar covers or dome light tap

Can anyone give a quick how-to for either removing the pillar covers or another place to tap into the door/dome light 12VDC (switched)? I'm just putting in some small LEDs in the footwells and am looking for the easy way out.
I just want them to come on when the doors are opened or the dome light switch is pushed.

Should be easy, but then I'm pretty lazy!

Thanks in advance.

240 just took his dome light apart and fixed it. He should have that down pat. The pillar covers come off with a little tugging and pulling. Get a start at the top outside edge and pull back to the opposite rear corner. A little at the top, then the bottom, then the top.......... I got mine off without breaking anything. Thanks for the directions Rudy.

When I removed mine I just pulled them off amd putting them back they just snap back in place. The dome light wires run in the passenger side pillar and the garage door opener wires run in the drivers side pillar. I'm not sure which side the wires for the sensor switch for the convertable top is located.

Do you start from the weatherstripping side? At the top? The bottom? Any pointers will help, Thanks!

I pulled mine starting at the top and as soon as it started coming off a little then I pulled from the top and the center at the same time. The passenger side came off very easy but I had to play with the drivers side a little.

Start at the weather stipping side. That is the only place I could get traction. And I agree, the passenger side was easier.
