Cool Front Number Plate

Can anyone tell me what size USA front number plate measures - does it need to be 12" x 6" to fit into the front plate holders I have seen on ebay?
Im just interested in reducing the size of my big British plate to soething smaller - but not sure what the lawmen would say!
Ta'

Mine measures 12" X 6".

The OEM holder is kind of a "surface Mount". A little more wiggle room for overall dimensions.

Hope this helps.

Yes a great help - I will be doing some mods to my front end, as I like the smaller USA front plate design more than our massive UK number plate.
I just need a nice quality stainless steel USA plate holder. Ebay ????

I think first, you need a USA OEM Crossfire plate holder. The dark gray plastic kind. Perhaps paint it to match your body color? And then affix a nice plate surround.

There are a number of them (plate surround) on the USA eBay all the time.
You might have to find the OEM unit at a dealer. I've seen the part number in a thread here, but have no idea where. I think Andrew (Adimin) came up with it.

Go to eBay Motors and do a search for Chrysler Crossfire in "Parts and Accessories". You'll find something you like, I'm sure.

Post pics when you're finished.

As for the legality, I've seen plates in the UK with two rows of characters, one above the other to fit left-drive imports with the smaller plate mount area. I don't suppose having a euro width in back and different in front would cause too many problems?

Let us know!

Thanks for this input - very helpfull, I will do just what you advise, only problem I can see is that when my factory (grey plastic) back plate was screwed onto the front bumper, they put some nasty screw holes there in each corner, and these will show when the smaller plate is fitted. This is going to make for some clever filling and toouch up painting to cover the damage. I can get a plate made here 12" X 6" which will be legal exept for the letteres and numbers which be slightly smaller than standard, but I think the law will leave me alone as most lawmen dont know the rulings on this stuff.
Will come back on this mod!
All the best!
Steve

Thumbs up Re: Front Number Plate

Thumbs up, my friend! There was a very recent thread on a very slick front mount. I think it was started by SRTSIX?
Anyone?

Here is a new video showing the Show N Go frame. BTW the front now has both upper and lower grilles in gloss black powdercoated finish.
