I gave a pretty extensive search of the forum before I resorted to starting the post just so you guys know... I am searching for a red replacement for the dome light in our cars... I found a few posts about the size and style but I just can't figure out if the ones I found are right or not... And what do you guys think LED or filament bulbs? I read that LED isnt as bright but has some advantages. What do you guys think?

I just las tweek installed 12 SMD LED panels in my dome lights and really like the extra brightness.

I first used light very similar to those, only white. Looked great, but went for 12 LED panels. They will do fine, I think!

I got thumbs-up from everyone that saw them.

Thanks for the quick response, but now you got me interested in the 12 LED panels you were talking about hah. Did that require any modifications to the dome light or was it an easy install? Oh and if so can you point me in the right direction to buy some. Also, since i got your attention are the trunk lights the same as the glove box lights? I just bought some red led's for the trunk and it looked like it was the same as the glove box, just wanted to make sure.

Sorry bud, I did a bit of shopping and couldn't find a single one! I bought these:

And just replaced the 194 bulbs with them. No mods. As for the glove and hatch lights, you'll have to do a search on the forum for the proper lengths. I think it can be confusing, but the correct lengths are on here. Somewhere.

Email this "kenneth" guy and ask when more will be available.

Thanks man those would be perfect if I could find them in red but for some reason nobody sells red led panels. I even emailed that kenneth guy and he said he doesnt sell red led panels because not enough people buy them. Looks like I'm SOL on the LED panel front but those first ones you showed me look like they'd do the trick just fine so I guess I'll go with those. If you could, keep your eyes out for me for any red led panels that you might find, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all your help.

Hah dam nice find, just like two seconds late lol. I just ordered the ones in the first hyperlink that maxcichon sent me... I'll probably end up ordering the ones you found anyway tho they look like they are gonna be A LOT brighter and thats what i'm looking for.
