Hairline Scratches
I have a 05 coupe, when the light hit its just right it looks like the entire car is covered tiny scrathes. What can be done about it? I was told this was nomal for Chrysler cars. I am using all the proper washing techniques. Help.

Go to link and read.
Never dust car off while it is dry, use detail spray.
Use microfiber towels, to wash, and dry.
Good luck, detailing can get addictive.

Use of improper towels can often be one cause of hairline scratches. It takes very little to scratch paint. I would strongly advise never using any microfiber towel. 100% USA grown cotton fiber towels are your best bet. Foreign produced towels often say they are all cotton but aren't, also the edges usually have non-cotton fibers which will scratch. I have been using 100% supina cotton towels from LAZaino for several years. They are expensive but superb. They have all edging removed. Be sure to follow the washing instructions before using them.

What you have are good old swirls/cobwebs/towel marks/etc. Nothing a good paint cleaner and either some elbow grease or a D/A buffer can't fix. Read the article GDC-SRT linked to, or read through the 5 Step Paint Care Cycle at meguiarsonline.com
Slightly off topic question for you Mike:
The previous owner must have lightly rolled into something and a small portion of paint on the front bumber cover has 'spider webbed' and the paint is cracking in neat lines. Will any high speed or polishing be able to minimize this effect or do I have to get it repainted. Thanks.

That was my thinking exactly, but I am trying to figure out timing with a possible repaint (and going 2 tone) with the detail your buddy Jimmy is going to put on her, she will be looking good then for sure....
Thanks Mike.
Thanks Mike.
