Default Brake Lights ??? Constant On!

Has anyone came across or heard of the break lights staying in lets say "bright mode" as if I were holding in the break pedal all the time? The lights don't seem to dim when I release the break... very odd and confusing!!

Doesn't do it with the lights off...

thanks in advance

So I replaced the yellow switch in the LF fuse box and I still have the same issue.

1. With the exterior lights OFF, I apply the breaks and after about 1.0 seconds the "!" for the lights appears on the dash. A clicking can still be heard coming from the newly replaced switch.

2. With the exterior lights ON, the brake lights are on constant as if I were driving while holding in the break break.

Any ideas? Thank you.

The brake switch is actuated by the brake pedal and is mounted beside the pedal under the dash. You replaced the brake switch solenoid. Maybe the switch just needs adjustment or it is loose.Have a look it is easily seen. See page 8L-91 of the shop manual.
Start at the switch and hope it is nothing more serious like the module.

Well...
I got under my dash by the break pedal and removed the pressure switch that is attached to the break pedal contraption. lol This was clicking as well when ever I would apply the breaks.

The part is $13.xx through O'Rieleys and about $30 through Chrysler. Neither can get the part to me until Tues-Weds.

Looks just like this: More Information for AIRTEX 1S5013

Thanks for all the help and input! Hopefully this is what was the issue. I will update this as soon as I get the part in and replaced.
