Default Carbon Fiber

Would anyone be interested in carbon fiber parts, such as a hood, rear diffuser, roof cap, possibly windshield surrounds? stuff like that? There is a shop near me that does carbon fiber(the real thing not just the stick on stuff) and he might be able to start a line for the crossfire, if we can get a group to buy the stuff, he said he would need at least five to do it. I will be talking to him more today, and get more info for you, but I would also need to know what parts you guys would be interested in. Thanks
Dustin

Ok, I have prices for the hood, roof cap, and rear diffuser.
Hood: $615 usd
Roof cap: $525 usd
Rear diffuser: $315 usd
I am trying to find out how long of a wait it would be.

Ok, so he just told me that it would take three weeks to get the parts after he has received payment. Personaly I think it would be awesome to get some more parts available for these already awesome cars, but especially carbon fiber, I love the stuff. If there is anything else that you guys and gals might like to see for these cars made out of carbon fiber, just let me know, and if we get at least five people who want it and have the money, then it is a possibility!

04xfireid we have been offered CF a few times before but things never materialized. I truly hope your local shop can do this for us. I'm sure a lot of us would be willing to purchase if they can make a quality product for our quality cars.

Thanks for the offer. Keep us posted.

Me? I want two of everything!

I would be interested in a hood too....

depending on what the weight difference would be...

where are you located...or rather where is your shop located that would be doing this work?

It would be nice to get some new stuff for the xf but personally I'm not willing to give up 600 for a hood and not get it. Someone else on the forum caused alot of people money loss and personally until I see the hood on a crossfire I will not purchase even though I have the money in the account and it is tempting.

I understand, not acctually knowing the shop yourself makes you a little paranoid, (or what ever word you would use) I know the guy personnaly, and he has done auite abit of work for people around here. His shop is located in Pocatello, Idaho. the company name is Innovative Fabrications Inc. Yes it is real 100% carbon fiber, it is not your oem part dipped or wrapped. I am still trying to work out all of the details with the guy. The only reason this wont get going is if I cant get him at least 5 paid people for each part we want, so far it is looking like we have six hoods, 2 roof caps, and 3 rear diffusers. Anyone else? to make things easier, If you want one for sure, pm me and I will keep track names of who wants what. If you have question dont be affraid to ask. Thanks

I have purchased several items from members of this board. The most that I have sent to a member so far is $390 for a transaction. All transactions have gone smoothly, and all members that I have purchased from are long-standing members of this board with hundred to thousands of posts.

We must remember that the internet provides a lot of anonymity which is not always a good thing. Please don't take this the wrong way 04xfireid..... but I would be VERY reluctant to participate in a group buy for items as expensive as these CF parts with a member of this forum that has 11 posts to date, and has been a member for only a few months. 04xfireid, I am in no way questioning your integrity, or your intent, but too many people have been severely burned in forums like this by people that prey on others trusting nature.

Good luck in this endeavor.

I understand what you are saying bmorgan, and I dont take offense at it. I agree with what you are saying, but I promise all of you(if that means much in this day and age) that I am not trying to rip anybody off.

Might I suggest as a starting point that you fill out your public profile to provide some information about yourself and upload some pictures of you and your Crossfire. New member with almost no posts... no public profile.... no images in your gallery.

So, let me see if I got this right.... if you can get 5 people to commit $615 each for a total of $3,075 to purchase a CF hood. You will collect the money, and in @ 3 weeks, they should receive a new hood from someone that you know that has never build a hood for a Crossfire before.

Once again.... good luck, but you can count me out.

I'd be in for a hood as well, but need more info on the shop, etc. before I give $615 away.

From a quick search, a relatively recently created myspace page is all I saw: Innovative (Innovative Fabrications INc.) | MySpace

from what i understand, the roof cap is just a layover, as for a front splitter, if we get enough people it can be done. With the hood, it was just going to be like stock, unless everyone wants something different? just let me know what you guys want, however if everyone is wanting different then it probably wont happen. and billvp, his shop is relativly new, here is a link to his ebay shop eBay My World - innovativefabricationsinc
