Default headlight spring clips

Does anyone have an extra headlight spring clip lying areound that they could sell me? I lost one while replacing a bulb. When I went to the dealer about getting one, they said I would have to buy the whole headlight assembly .

My suggestion to you:

if you strike out here-take one out of the another position and head to a local machine shop. I'm sure they can make them, but it may cost $20 or a bit more.

Better than nothing...

I got the spring clip from Woody & was able to get it put in with the help of a mirror. I should have read the instructions for changing the bulb on this site first, it would have saved me a lot of trouble. I also realized ( thanks to this site) that I hadn't put the drivers side bulb in right last year when I replaced it ( I didn't get it seated right), so I was able to correct that. I finally have headlights that work right. Thank goodness for CrossfireForum.org.

bought a 2005 roadster. Changed a low beam bulb - clip was missing. I can sympathize as I fought these for years on a volvo.

Anyone know where I can get one? Of course I would pay. Its ridiculous that you have to buy a whole head light assembly.

Anyone know if SLK's used these? Maybe mercedes sells them.

I'll probably scour a few junk yards.

Cheers and merry christmas

Terry

Just a suggestion for all of you that are looking for those clips. I have been driving my 2005 Roadster for 3 years with a "dim" and strangely angled drivers side low beam. High beam looked great so I didn't want to try to adjust the low beam since the vertical adjustment applies to both. Finally, after reading the posts on headlight replacement, I got to thinking maybe it is not seated properly so I pulled off the cap to check. Guess what? No clip. Bulb was just laying in there loose. NO WONDER IT IS NOT AIMING CORRECTLY. Removed the clip from the High Beam to use as a guide and I made a new one using a paper clip. First try didn't work so good. Used a smallish clip and it wasn't strong enough. On the second try, I used the largest paper clip that will fit in the holes on the assembly. After a few adjustments, I got it to work and the headlight is perfect. All it cost me was some disinfectant and some band aids. Who designed these things anyway. Thank God it was on the passenger side. By the way, have a mirror handy. You really can't do it without one.

Just bought my car a month ago, passenger side low beam went out. Found black tape and goop holding bulb in. Obviously the previous owner or dealer lost the clip.
I went to Chrysler and ordered the rubber cup that was missing but need clip. Do you still have any?
Thank-you
