You know whats great about this forum? You can see other member's mods and cars and see the results. Like it or dislike, thanks for sharing your pictures and information with us.
I would have to see it in person before I would decide whether to put something like that on my car. I think it turned out great if you are into that look. Good luck, as long as you like it, its all good. You did good.

All I can say is I hope you really like the look because you just drilled holes into a bumper cover that is now next to impossible to find. To each their own and that's what makes us unique but our tastes differ on this one. As long as you're happy with it though, that's all that counts. Just make sure you've got it tied into the frame and aren't just using the bumper cover to support it as it could tear through it with the added down force.

Well, thoughts on all the subjects here. I think what a person does to their car to meet there personal needs/ style is there own biz. People are going to like the car owner’s style or not. In this world, it seems people have become more and more critical of things that don’t suit their personal style without having an open mind, and tend to be out spoken about it. If I like something, or not, I see the work that individual put into his/her ride to achieve his/her personal look for their ride. Cars are a very personal thing. Look at the Duesenberg, it was ordered as a chassis, and the new owner worked with the design dept to design a body. I will go with want grandma tought me, if you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all.
As for modifying our 2005 blk limited roadster beyond repair, in my case a def. no. It will remain stock. I have an 89 gt conv mustang as my toy to play and modify. Our XF is our “stepping out car”. When wife and I go out for a night, we take the XF Sat night is the XF. Friday nights, it’s the 89 mustang.
The splitter design I came up with for my 89, was to drill 4 holes through the splitter and into the steel bottom of the front bumper assy., never drilling through the new bumper cover. In fact 2 of these holes I can use are all ready there. I’ll cut some 1” Ssteel tube about 1” in length, then cut these 2 pieces in half, drill a hole, so as to make 4 rockers. Under the bumper cover, mounted to the lower rad. Frame is a new piece of framing the will wing out in front of the front tire. (Pictures to come). With a turnbuckle that will adjust the back of the splitter up and down modifying the rake (angle of attack). It’s going to be a hidden adjustment. It’ll also give another point of support for a fender and possible brake-cooling duct.
As for the functions of the splitter, On my 89 mustang, at anything above 115mph, the cars front end feels as though it’s lifting, steering gets real light and unresponsive, even with all the suspension mods done so far. So I thought a Spoiler/splitter would do the trick. My 67 must. had the same issue until the chin spoiler was added. At 120, it’s front end held firm to the ground. A spoiler just doesn't fit right on the 89, so I thought more modern. A friend gave me some3/32" plate aluminum. Looks real nice, only thing is, that i had to replace the front bumper cover due to my daughter hitting a ratcoon on I355 and folding the lower lip of the air scoop down and ripping everything to shredds. This time she hits a coon, she'll be-head it. I'm affraid I'll find it's head in the rad. grill.
As for a splitter on an XF, my roadster holds firm and lane changes just fine at 150, smooooth as silk. No splitter/spoiler needed for me.

Gosh yeah, be sure you’re not into the plastic....... that could be very disastrous
Be sure you’re into framework of the car for mounting points and not using sheet metal type screws. Everything should be nut and bolted, no self-tapping type screws at all. Remember, you’re pulling the weight of your car down, just as a jack has to be strong to lift it.

bringing it back.
howd this turn out? still on there after 150 mph?
thinking about doing the same to my xfire. alabaster white. lowered, powdercoated rims, red calipers, black windows, debadged. a black front splitter would look nice IMO.

It should be doing something if it's still on there at speed. Either lifting the front (way bad) or slamming the front down (good) and keeping front tires planted.
Although our XF conv. seems fine at 150. She seems to "squat down" real nice.
My 89GT conv. mustang is a dif. story, the frt seems to lift at 120+. Very scarey. I am putting a splitter on it's front with hidden rake adjustments. Made of 3/16" aluminum plate and attached to the frame.
Q'tion to the cars owner......
Did you make the "rake" adjustable? It looks like you have turn buckles in front? And how's it working?
