LED running lights (Audi replicas)
LED running lights (Audi replicas) updated
Built these myself. I basically disassembled the housing, custom cut and installed ultra-white LED's. I am considering producing them and selling them, how much do you guys think a mod like this would sell for, and would anyone even be interested? Any constructive criticism is welcomed.

Re: LED running lights (Audi replicas)
really looks nice. Now, for about actually doing this as a kit. I don't know. seems like alot of wrk to get it right, and with how rabid most of us are about the car if a small mess up occurs there would be alot of shots going back and forth for really not much reason. For a fun DIY project I think it's worth the effort. To get a fair price for doing it for others, hmmm, not so much. just my 1.5 cents on it, but you did a nice job and it looks good.
Re: LED running lights (Audi replicas)
Thanks guys for the all the comments and e-mails. It sounds like a plug and kit with directions is the most common suggestion. I am going to do more research on the plug and play part as well as put together a file if you want to do everything yourself. I don't manufacture anything, I just use all outside materials. Overall its not a terrible job, its just time consuming. Heating the lenses up with a heat gun, folding the plastic back and pulling the lensed from the housing is the most difficult part. Time and persistence will pay off hugely.

Posted for those that can't see them. FYI, they look fantastic!

Re: LED running lights (Audi replicas)
It is just me but this is how I would do it:
Purchase the audi led light strip kit on ebay for around $7.00, cut to fit (free or around $1.00 if you do not own a pair of scissors), push in under headlights (10 seconds), wire up (couple of minutes) and you have a set for under $10.00.
audi led lights, eBay Motors, Electronics. Great deals on eBay!

Re: LED running lights (Audi replicas)
They all look great!
Some cars look like they are using blue and some look white. Where is the easiest place to buy a light string and do you cut to size? Are they weather proof after cutting? What diameter should the light strip be to fit under the headlight lens? Do they just push in and under from the outside front? Is it easy to wire? Do you want them to go on with parking lights? Maybe someone can be helpful. Thanks Ron
