... anyways...

What what do you guys think of these side skirts? I want to begin construction soon but I need to know what you all want/prefer first.

I will start a thread about the new lip/splitter once I am ready to begin construction..

If you will make splitters like the ones in your photoshop picture, or the ones shown on the The Kleemann SLK R171 kit, then I'm ready to order. As for the side skirts, I'd be interested in those too.

I have seen a bunch of the different SLK skirts but none of them are what I am looking for. I would personally like to see a skirt that mirrors the lines the car is named after. There has to be a way to produce a skirt with those same/similar lines only on a smaller scale. I believe they would tie in a lot better that way. The slk ones are nice but the shapes and lines just don't match up as well as I believe they could.

This looks great. Here is my suggestion for the skirt as the front looks perfect. Taper the skirt slightly as you reach the front fender opening so the front is not at wide as the rear. Also, at the rear, on the top edge of the skirt, make the flat top part taper into the rear wheel arch ever so slightly so the cut off is not so harsh. Its all about making it look as factory as possible. You've succeeded with the front, just a little work to the side will make them much better. Good work.

I was thinking something similar to your suggestions..

I was thinking about raising the back line up near the top corner of the rocker panel so it slants down to the front. Also having it taper down in the front to just a small lip like you stated.

Yeah that would be cool, anything to minimize the effect. I know that sounds dumb, but aftermarket mods or any mod for that matter looks best when you don't notice it at first. It flows, with the car. Even special models like AMG, or BMW M, or Audi S series are pretty subtle and have good flow. Never look tacked on.

If you search you'll see my photoshops of the AMG skirts I did. The skirt ended up being a huge nightmare for people here including myself because the guy who made them was a huge scumbag ****** bag. So people here are skeptical.

Just keep people updated with lots of pics, be open to feedback, and remember always be tasteful and think "OEM" not "ricer" and you'll do well. Your side strakes are a perfect example of doing it the right way.

I agree #1
I think they would go well with the front and rear pieces you are looking at producing.

I like #1 but I'm really drawn back to #5....it's growing on me and think it may look fantastic in real life.

Looks like opinions are all over the place..

I need to find a design fits right in with everyones tastes.

im thinking maybe a design like #1 that tapers down to the front just a bit... Like a mesh between #1 and #5.

how does something like that sound?

I like the idea but I think you will need to either keep it staright like #1 or have enough taper like #5 or else it will look like its just not installed straight.

Now Im thinking, taper the width of #1 in the front, not the height. this way it still looks the same from a side view but just doesnt stick out as much away from the car in the front

I like #3 but I'm a big fan of the Reiger side skirts (previously posted)! If you make one regardless PM me please? I'm in Iraq and don't log in every month. Thanks!
