Default New Halo/HID Pics

Finally got around to taking some more pictures of my Halo/HID install outside of my parking garage with the weird lighting. I just wish I still had my nice camera and a tripod so I could get some beter photos. Oh well...

Well, if you don't count the fact that I bought replacement headlamp assemblies, the Halo kit itself only cost $180 and the HID kit was around $100.

The most time intensive part of the process was actually putting the halos in the headlamp assemblies. It involved drilling the holes in the rings surrounding the projector lens housings in order to run the power wires through for a clean install, epoxying the halo rings in place, drilling a small hole on the back side of the assemblies to pass the connector wires from the power inverters through, connecting the power wires to the inverter wires, then reassembling the assemblies and sealing the lenses back on.

Not counting the time it took for the silicone sealant to dry, just putting the halos in the assemblies took about 3 hours. It would be much quicker if I was to ever do it again, because most of the time was spent figuring out the best way to actually go about setting it all up. The directions provided by oracle aren't exactly specific to the Crossfire. once the assemblies were ready to be installed in the car, that was only about an hour process as all you have to do is wire the inverters to power/ground once the assemblies are in. HID's went in at the same time and were extremely quick, as well.

I got the eyelids off of Ebay, I honestly can't remember the seller, but they pop up on there quite frequently.

I'm holding out hope that you do find another decent one. They're out there, they just like to hide, it seems like. Heck, I spent months looking for one before I found the one that I did. I imagine you'll be able to get a decent price on one now that winter is approaching, too...

Yup, bought my last one in January with 6 inches of snow on the ground and stole it

Hey, I don't meant to start a new topic on this thread but I really like what you did with that front grill. Is that something custom that you made or did you buy it and install it?

I got it from a company called GrilleTech. Some people aren't fond of it because you have to drill a couple of holes in the fascia where it mounts, but personally it doesn't bother me. I love the way it looks and the price was right. Under 300 for the upper and lower grilles on eBay.

Yeah, it's definitely an exclusive club, haha. I have them wired to the parking lights so they don't have to be on all the time. I'm considering switching it up a little and wiring in a switch so I can run them completely independtly, though.

Nice lights! What do you think about changing the indicator lenses to white ones? Might look cool.

"Just my $0.2" or what is it that you in the states usally write?

Actually I have considered that, just have to get around to it. I'm working on upgrading brake components at the moment, so once that is done I can get back to some other mods that I'd rather do.

Welll, .2 would be twenty cents, so that's pretty close. .02 is generally the phrase, though, haha.

Well, I suppose it would be more accurate to say the brakes and wheels in general. Today I just ordered some 15mm spacers and new bolts so I can set my new wheels back to proper offset. Next Friday I'll be ordering some R1 Concepts rotors and Posi-Quiet ceramic brakes. During the install of rotors/brake pads I'll be changing out the brake fluid for some better stuff and painting my calipers silver.
