Default Decision made, white it is.

Hi, just looked through the gallery now when it is finally up and running. Not to my surprise I found a nice white looking N/A. I fell in love again and I made the decision that I will not be satisfied (feel that my mission of switching my beloved white N/A into a SRT6 is not accomplished) and always think of how much better I would think it looked white. So, decision made. I do not need any comments on that I should not do it nor that it will devalue the price of the car.

I have the service manual so I can read myself how to disassemble most parts but I know some of you have first hand experience and can give some good pointers / pics on following sections that need to be disassembled.

1. doors
2. door handles
3. lift gate
4. srt wing
5. side louver
6. fuel filler door
7. front, rear bumper
8. front fenders
9. front, rear headlamps
10. emblems
11. hood
12. door sill trim plate
13. trim panel
14. A-pillar trim
15. rubber seals
16. rocker panel moldings
17. grille

For instance. #11. after having lifted hood off the car, do not let it rest on the mountings, standing up, as they can easily be bent.

Thanks for all comments / hints that can help me in my quest.

I completely understand FUBU. Theere is just something about the white that in my opinion just pops this car, other than the machine gray. The other colors are fine, but when I got mine, there was a red one, yellow, aero, 2 blacks and a white on the lot. Dealer said which one you want to test drive and I picked the white one right off the bat. Didn't even know why-it was just a test drive. 4 hours later I was driving it home.

Yeah, that's going to be a lot of work. Good luck, a white SRT will look sweet.

I think a white SRT will be awsome. It looks like you intend to do a first class paint job. Make it so and show us the pics. Good luck.

That's a big task. congratulations and good luck.
Do not forget the two trim strips in the roof, one above each door, windshield trim and mirrors, paint them in place and it will look shabby.
Get rid of every bit of SSB you can see or you will see them every time you look at the car.

Take tons of digital pics and save them in a file for later when it's time to re-assemble.
