Side Mirror Glass?
Side Mirror Glass?
I have searched the previous discussions on this and haven't found an answer yet. The glass just does NOT pop off! Yes, I have the nice picture that shows the eight plastic catches on the back of the mirror but they have squared ledges that are not designed to pull off and I have pulled hard enough to bend the mirror (within it's elastic limit) and assume a harder pull will only break it. Is there some way to manually release a couple of the catches so that it might then come off? I'd appreciate any wisdom that keeps me from breaking the mirror.

im also having problem with replacing of side mirror glass... im thinkin' to replace it or take it to a mechanic. the door and the actual mirror piece popped out. it looks like it would break easily
Re: Side Mirror Glass?
I have removed the mirror glass from the housings several times. Adjust the mirror all the way to the left and down and you can release the top catch with a very small/slim flat bladed screw driver or paint can tool (available at the dollar store or free from Benjamin Moore paint store). Now adjust the mirror all the way to the right and release the other top catch. Adjust the mirror all the way up and release the bottom catches, each side. unplug the wires and there you have it!
