I agree with the gap issues. On my black car it looks fine. Not sure about other colors. I really wish someone would make this style grill specifically for our cars. I cant tell you how many grills I ordered and sent back to test fit. R and D cost me money, but compared to how much I spend on my car hobby it is a drop in the bucket.

Looks great!

I made a custom grill as well for my SLK32. I used universal powder-coated grill mesh from customcargrills.com and I am pretty happy with it. They have some new mesh styles in now, and I am actually thinking about making a new one.

I tried it. If it fit it would have been nice. I like the center spine. Unfortunately it was way to big all around.

Well saves me from stealing one off a cop car.. LOL. That center spine was what caught my attention as "blending" in to the cars design..

Yep, great minds think alike. Either that or we are both equally whacked.

Lol now people love the center spine? When CTD and I drew up the original grill everyone bagged on it do much as to drive CTD from the boards almost and totally kill the grill project.. They called it a Pontiac Grand Prix grill. Sigh. This forum shoots itself in the foot from time to time with the negativity.

Not liking something is hardly negativism, tastes are different, some like the OEM grille and some don't. I do not care for this grille or any of the so called billet or mesh grilles, but that's just me.

Were you a part of the original thread I started. You had people who had no interest in any type of grill incessantly bashing and just creating a mess. If they had no interest to begin with, my "opinion" is that they shouldn't comment at all, let alone negatively over and over and over. It got tiresome and eventually the manufacturer lost interest. We have basically ZERO aftermarket support for this car. You'd think people would kiss the *** of any manufacturer that at least wants to bring something out. Funny thing is, some of these people trip over themselves for some of the ugly ricer tacky mods. Well whatever, that was years ago. The XF aftermarket scene is dead a long time ago.

are you saying my grill and front lip are ugly ricer mods? I guess maybe I should wait to install my 5 inch outlet muffler then? Kidding of course.

In my opinion this is how threads turn into fights, when they go off subject and it becomes a pissing match.

Water under the bridge. Lets get back on topic.

Never said your mods were rice. If you check the commemts on Miatas photos youll see i actually like that lip a lot. And believe it or not, opinions can be wrong. Lol

Anyway, no pissing match, I'm just commenting on how a very similar grill was bashed. Nothing more.

I'm looking for another Grill now. Can't find the one I'm looking for.

No worries Maya. I remember you from when I was here originally in 2004. I know you are a good guy. And I also remember when CTD was working on that grill. I had high hopes for it back then too. Then I traded my CF and lost track of it. Sad it never worked out. It could have been very nice.

The problem with opinions is they are like a$$ holes, everybody has one!
Again no worries. Back to topic.

Okay.. did you see/try this one?

00-05 Chevy Impala Mesh Grill Chrome|ProTuningLab

Which would also leave the door open for this one...

Which also would open the door for a lower priced billet grill..

No, I did not try those. I did look at them as possibilities since the shape seems to be a good match. I did not actually order one and try. Please let me know if you do. Always looking for a "tighter" fit.

Just got my grille in today. It looks well made and it is exactly the style of mesh that I like, however it looks a little small from top to bottom. I'm gettin ready to see how good I am with a dremel and a heat gun...
