LED license plate lights to replace trunk light
I ordered these lights for the trunk and they are too small to fit the hole.
My license plate LEDs that I got do fit the hole for the trunk light but do not snap, the plug is different as well of course.
The plug from the trunk light above is not the same as the OEM trunk light.
I think that the plate light could be made to hold in place and I could fit a new plug fitted to the OEM wiring.
It does not look out of place as it has a black rim around the light.

Thanks for doing the legwork on all the different options. Back on the hunt then, may just have to find a led bulb setup that may fit in the OG housing
That's the route I'm gonna go as well, for both the trunk light and dome light.
I have your answer for that right here: LUMEN® - Chrysler Crossfire 2004 Interior LED Bulbs

I have the roadster and my bulbs are the same as the side marker and eyebrow bulbs.
I have 5LED CANBUS in all of them, and no error light ......
( The dome lights even dim down to go out like they should )

What was your source? TIA
I have had them in for about 2 months.
I got them from China via fleabay, $12.50 for 10 of them including shipping, so
all I have to do is monitor the lenses for heat distortion.
I used 8 of the 10 : 4 in sidemarkers, 2 in dome, 2 in eybrow lights.
I have 2 spares, which I also checked to make sure they work.

I have had no issues ( yet ).
I run 55w Halogen backup bulbs in all my vehicles which for some strange reason were taken off the market here in Ontario, Canada. Mechanics were warning owners to not install them because the extra heat would distort the plastic lenses. I was telling a colleague who was very interested. He tows a boat and quite often is loading in/out when dark...but ignored my praises and listened to his mechanic who said "don't do it". I told him that "yea, if you leave the gear in reverse for say 10 minutes then you may have an issue, but who does that?"...
Hmm.. call me silly.. but seems I've read interior lights aren't monitored by the system.. so they all would be error free..
Good to know ........

Also my bad, posted the wrong bulb type with that link. They have the LED equivalent of the side markers and interior lights on that site too

Hey George, was these the ones I thought I was going to receive a set of (and make a DIY post on with pics)? If so (and you either forgot or just used em all up) thats OK it just keeps me from breaking anything or freezing to death in the current cold snap!
Excellent info. Where did you get the correct plug to retro fit the license plate LED light?
If I am stuck I will use the 3/16" female spade type terminals, covered in heat shrink tube they will be just fine.

Great write up. I ordered another set of these after the license plate upgrade and installed one to replace the OEM one. I had a hard time with the spring clip so I trimmed the inner lip on the plastic spring clip and pryed it open a little further to help install it. It does fit like a glove and man what a difference, one is all I need. Thanks.
