Default Carbon Fiber Rear Diffusers

Okay guys, time to steer head another one.

Most know these are no longer produced and add a nice flair to the tail end. Fiberglass repops were reportedly heavy and fit took some finesse to fit (and no longer produced again). Since the OEM were a type of poly plastic you could work with them for that "just right" position.

SRT6.com has agreed to look into reproduction from carbon fiber if enough interest is generated to make it worth while. 10 is a target audience, and I know going through threads there is that many wanting them in the past. $250 is the target price also.

If you look at the website, they are not looking to be a fly by night gig, so I feel this would be the best shot at seeing them again.

So I'm here to toss this on the table to you guys. And if your not sure what they are (newer members) I stole this picture from the forum...

Let's be honest here, what's the shipping from Europe? That said I've wanted diffusers for years so put me down as a want-er at 250.

Sounds great.. and like I say this is a feeler. We've discussed the shipping horror and are looking to address this also. No since in doing all the homework and fine tuning things if 2 people are it.

I've got 2 1/2 men reruns I could watch instead..

If I have to invest a few "upfront" dollars along the way, well I can see this as being worth while.

Cool deal. I thought it would take a couple days to get people started on a serious note. Guess I'll get the list started.

I'm thinking if we can hit a 7 definite It will be time to start a fine tune on this!

Pictures of the wing they have already look good. But this will give us a chance to hands on for the quality and detail of their work, which could make a win - win for all parties.

I will admit that as a newbie I do not know what the heck a diffuser is, but Mr. Miata did such a great job on orchestrating the tuning kit group buy, which I also knew nothing about, that I have simply decided to let my money follow his lead until I become educated about this car. So, I am all in and ready to purchase

Great! this puppy may fly way faster than I thought. And if you didn't notice on the http://srt-6.com/ website.. carbon fiber hoods might be on the horizon with them too..

I can probably squirrel away the $250 for these as long as they are very nice fitting and looking.

I'm thinking we will probably have to give a little wiggle room on fit.? As in don't expect to apply tape and throw them against the car and be done. Like I noted the poly plastic lets you tweak for any variations there may be. It was noted the fiberglass did fit okay with some time and effort, and these will be stiff also, but at least a lighter carbon fiber. I really feel like they will do us a quality part here to pretty much launch a line of carbon fiber products. With 10 or more of us reporting back a great fit and looking product it will knock most off the fence on other purchases. So like I say a win - win for all.
So let me know if your a definite for the list..

I really like the way the diffusers fill in that space, but I was not 100% happy with the OEM fit. I did not like the little seam that it left by the bumper and the diffusers. So I ran a little chrome strip to fill it in. pictures in my gallery. Get them if you can, looks better back there.

I'm good with my "custom" made LED ones, but if something happened with them I'm not doing it again. And the wife may decide she really wants the roadster, so I'm just looking down the road here by getting a set.

Great work! We shall see how many are interested and at what price we can get these. As oem plastic ones are 250 usd I would say that carbon fiber generally must be a bit more expensive but you will never know.

I know Phil quite well, and based on what I've seen from him, he is just as detail-oriented as the best of us.

I've wanted the OEM diffusers @ $250 for over a year... so, a proper carbon version for the same price = no-brainer.

I've been stalking cars for sale on ebay and messaging their owners to find out if their diffusers are the Mopar part and if they would sell them separately.. so far no luck!

There's probably more poly plastic in my front spoiler that cost $40 bucks delivered..

Think the biggest part is in that profit margin.. sell 10 @ $100 profit each or 100 @ $25 profit each.

Besides I don't think we could get much interest at $400 a pair, price subject to drop when finalized.. LOL.
