HID's
Re: HID's
I assume you already have an HID kit in your car? If so make sure you buy lights for your specific kit. If you don't have HIDs you have to buy an HID kit. You can't put HID lights on your OEM settup.

If you were to click on this link Exterior & Lighting - CrossfireForum.org , You would find everything you need to know about HID's and crossfires.
I know I have to buy a kit. I just don't know which one to buy and I don't know anything about this car guys. I'm ridin on a 30 day tag. Lol. Just got it a couple weeks ago. I found a kit for a good price. But it doesn't specify high or low beam. It just says they have the H7 in 5000k, 6000k and 8000k. Just didn't know which one to get. I like the blue look. So if it'll work, I'll just buy two of the same kit for my low beams and my high beams.

Several members are running this kit, including myself for two years now. Others seem to feel the need to spend quadruple on a kit.

Re: HID's
Interesting article. I might think about getting a set of Morimoto 9006 bulbs for the fogs and putting my H7 Osram's back in the lows .....

My wife complained that the OEM lighting on her 2012 GMC Acadia was ineffective compared to our other vehicles. I had to agree so I bought one of these kits shown above and although it was somewhat better, it wasn't what I had expected. I think there are limitations to the lighting improvement to be gained by these kits as they are affected by the OEM projector and headlight design. These were installed three weeks ago and one is already out. Another job for today............

HID kit took out the RT Low Bean 10 amp fuse. Put in new fuse, tested the circuit, plugged the HID unit back in the same way it came out....still not working....tested the circuit again....all good, changed the polarity of the kit, plugged it back in and it works. What a POS.

Did it again today, I'm done with this POS kit. Going to rip it out and go back to the stock bulbs.
Re: HID's
These HID's marginally improved the lighting on the Acadia. GM has a very poor design on the projectors and I'll admit that my wife is right about the OEM lighting being poor. But the projector design also limits the HID's from much improvement too. But these cheap kits are a waste of my time. An H11 Silverstar Ultra may improve the **** poor lighting somewhat but this is my wife's company car. If I owned it I'd trade it in .......the truck is a POS too.
