parking light comes on with brakes
I have a strange one, I just noticed that the driver side parking lamp comes on when the brake pedal is pressed and goes back off when it is released. If the parking lamp is turned on by the switch then it comes on along with the passanger side and is not effected by the brake pedal at that point......
Just my 2 cents : it's gotta be in the ICM ( Headlight switch assembly, Illumination Control Module ) unless somehow you have two wires touching somewhere in the harness.
Thank you guys for your help. I finally got around to looking back into this.
So I also had the side marker lamps all go out at once. The same driver side parking lamp that used to come on with the brakes also went out. The only thing working for parking lamps is the passenger front one. I replaced the ICM, no change, did a voltmeter test, the working front passenger lamp has good voltage but the driver side has only 1.75 using the integrated brown wire ground or me grounding on the body, same voltage. Tested at the back of the ICM and full voltage going to everything. So, somewhere in the wiring between the ICM and the bulb connectors?
frustrating.

I am assuming you mean the front DS parking lamp only and not it and/or the DS rear bulb.
The rear PL has been known to come on when using the brakes when the bulb installed there has been reversed 180° or the wrong two filament bulb has been used, I'm not sure which. Evidently in this case the bulb contact straddles both contacts in the bulb holder. This would apply only if you have recently changed the bulb and you never noticed the light coming on since that time. I'm guessing when I say that an inline diode prevents the other PLs coming on.
Dave, also you can have a double filament bulb that has one of the filaments broke and touching the other, inside the glass bulb. Seen it a few times now.

the headlamp switch corrected the front driver side parking lamp. After I cleaned the contacts in the socket connector the voltmeter showed full voltage. Still had all four corner side markers out. Checked the bulbs and they were all four out. I didn't think I would see or at least notice all four bulbs out at the same time, I thought for sure an electrical problem. I had full voltage to all four corner side markers. A while back I had blown the fuse and that may have been when all the bulbs popped.
