Default Hood Idea

Probably would not put on my car, but I have seen worse. The lines go well with the car. Now to make it functional would be nice.

The car looks to be well cared for. I do like that scoop but would not want one.

It is black which is forgivable, but it is an automatic, which is not.

I've often wondered if a functional hood scoop acting as a ram air would do any good on the 6? Might be the best way to get cool/cold air to the S/C. It's probably already been discussed at length but I've never researched it.

I doubt that you would find any gain but I do think if you installed a scoop to siphon the warm
air out from the engine bay, there might be some slight gain to be found. Just my opinion.

As you can see, the air slipstream travels well above most cometically pleasing style scoops to actually allow any measurable increase in cfm.
Any functional scoop that sits only a few inches off the hoods surface would really just create an open pathway for cooler outside air to be vacuumed into the intake.
Not a bad thing, but not comparable to the increase you would receive from a well designed CAI like the one offered by NeedsWings.

This is what I did to cool the motor and avoid running afoul of the VA DMV hood issues. Used the steel hood and then did lots of testing, on track it allowed faster cool down without having to keep opening the hood, Enjoy, Woody

Still my favorite hood design of them all. Functional, understated, and retains OEM cross-bracing. Solid design, Woody
