Exclamation HELP! Convertible Latch Safety Alarm Wont Stop Beeping

Hi Guys ~ I first want to thank you for your help ahead of time because once I get the necessary info. I am off and running and I really appreciate your time, your effort and your LOVE for our Crossfires! With that said, my convertible, out of the blue (actually right after getting it back from a shop ) started having a difficult time latching. It wasn't lining up properly and I have to pull it down hard to close. BUT it still makes that beeping sound like it's warning me that my top is not latched correctly. It DOES NOT SHUT OFF until I start driving at a higher rate of speed. It will then stop until I start to slow down for a light and then it starts up again. It sounds like the beep you hear when your seat belt is not on. IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!! PLEASE HELP MY HEAD FROM EXPLODING!

There are 2 possibilities here, first the switch that the passenger side top latch hook activates, it is mounted inside the windshield header.
The second is the "top opened" switch that is located just above the passenger's ear in the top frame.
Check them out.
Are you sure that BOTH latch hooks are being activated by the "D" handle ?
( there have been reports of the linkage from the "D" handle to the hooks falling off )

I will have my "mechanic" check it out. When this started happening i had taken my car in because my engine light came on. They said it was a problem with my gas cap, so I had it replaced. Went to pick her up and immediately noticed the top resisting to shut. I took it to a friends who forced it to close, which I was completely against. I will check into what you recommended and get back to you. You don't happen to live in Callie, do you

check that the rear window (bow) is latched. Will give you the same indication.

Try putting it down and up manually. The instructions are on this site. This may reset / realign everything.

He's right. Sometimes the controller gets out of sync. Put the top up and down manually WITH THE KEY ON (engine idling or not does not matter).

Here is how...
