Default Anyone used the magnet headlight trick?

Hey guys and gals...

ive done some searching and haven't found anything solid on this forum- so I thought about creating a "how to diy" on cleaning the inside of the headlight with magnet and cloth

ive found some info on using methanol but I've come across an idea that might also work with cleaning soft cloth and cleaning solution

i don't wanna recreate something that already exists on here and mess with anyone's jive lol

basically accessing the headlight inside housing from the bulb compartment and using magnets wrapped in terry cloth or inside a sod jewelry bag to wipe the inside without removing the housing itself...

much like a good fish tank cleaning kit.. I've seen some good effects come of it and wondered what you all think.

thanks! -ks

The only problem with that idea ( and I think it's a good one ) is that the only access to the inside of the headlight assembly is through the tiny eyebrow light hole.
Gonna have to be a small magnet, but I think it could be done with a small magnet and a large amount of patience.

( what is a "sod jewelry bag" ? )

a jewelry bag made out of gardening sod lmao

sry it was an auto correct on my iPhone (soft) jewelry bag typically made from felt cloth or terry type stuff

i also watched a video a while back like an instructional video for a dealership service department that has a long snake like rod that can deploy a small magnet (size of a hearing aid battery) into the housing while the other hand catches it with an outside magnet

once the cleaning is done with the cloth wrapped around the magnet of course... then the snake tool re Insterted into the housing would stick the magnet again and pull it out.

it was an instructional video for a service Dept but I can't remember where I saw it at
