Re: Crossfire aero kit, grill, double DIN kit updates.
Still waiting on the grill, the strakes, the double-din.
You say the double-din doesn't require modifications to the car, but the switches need to be moved down and that seems like a modification to me. Unless I'm missing something.
Re: Crossfire aero kit, grill, double DIN kit updates.
No modifications, you just pop out the buttons from the stock surround and into the new surround. The only modification you make is cutting the plastic cross brace for the single DIN radio. The strakes are ready now, the grill should be ready just printing another test print as I type this.

Why not make the two pieces in one, I made mine using OEM face plates and added the ciggy lighter and the passenger seat belt light to the window switch bezel. I think it is illegal and potentially dangerous not to have passenger sear belt light as the air bag could be switched off, that being a danger to the passenger . Or the bag could be on and throw a baby seat at the windshield. You would be liable having removed a safety feature.
I actually made two versions of the DoubleDin, the other kept the ash tray and the switches went to the console.
It is shown during filling the corners and is unpainted of course.

Re: Crossfire aero kit, grill, double DIN kit updates.
Why not one piece? Because there is no resin printer under 30k dollars with a build plate that large. These are preliminary scans, I never said these were finished products. They are being sent to testers to test fit and feedback. I can see the seams on your build
I wouldn't be responsible for what anybody does with their car. These are installed at your prerogative/off road use only. Not for use with babies, puppies, ming vases, cartons of eggs or people made of glass.

I can see the seams as well, but not before I painted them. I should have stripped it down but at my age I said Fxxx it.
I did finish the first one and painted them together, the first one is the one I am more happy with but I wanted the buttons on the dash.
I have all the original bezels, Nav radio etc so I could go back to stock.
Any mods I did can be taken back to OE specs, the NW Single air intake is on the shelf.
No original parts from my stock car were injured during the making of these faceplates.
This car is a 42,000 mile Garage Queen soon to be sold at the right price.
Re: Crossfire aero kit, grill, double DIN kit updates.
Hi, I know you've said that with the double din there are no modifications necessary. But every one I see has the Passenger Air Bag light moved and the ash tray removed. These seem to be modifications that I would have to do. Given that the Passenger Air Bag light is a safety item, I am reluctant to do anything like making a new hole for it somewhere and creating a secure installation.
I also don't want to become creative and move buttons to the console ...
Please clarify.
Re: Crossfire aero kit, grill, double DIN kit updates.
UPDATE: Printed my first prototype in water soluble resin to see if it came out well. It did.
I'm running some ABS prints tonight as well as the button panel and a couple other things.
Need to tweak a couple things but so far for a first print it's fantastic.

.
After my NAV radio bit the big wienie this past week (have not yet tried the 'car'/'radio' reset yet), I might opt out for a double DIN radio. Who knows, it will depend on if I can find a capability in the radio for a remote backup camera with wireless broadcast from the external camera (or wireless connectivity to screen mounted on the rear window aiming backwards). The car's visibility is always a problem that has been handled by parking in a visibility clearer spot in the past. If not for me, this project will have quite a few interested I am sure!
