Has anyone ever just replaced the third brake light with a strip of red LEDs. What I am thinking of doing is putting a strip over the current brake light, and connecting it to the plug that works the present brake light. Can this be done?

It should work. Wire it up and try it before you attach it. Post a photo of how it looks installed.

 

Yes, most of the LEDs on the 3rd brake light do not work presently. I have looked at removing it and sending it in, but it is difficult to get the light off, as it is glued on.

 

If I remember right the third light is bolted on ... raise the wing and remove the cover inside the trunk lid and you should be able to find the nuts that hold the light on ... and the wire connector is there as well ... once you get it off send to Ledfix and they will take care of it in short time, and at a good price
