Error Code
I noticed yesterday that I had an error light that, well, looked like a light. I will pull out my code reader if I have to. I was just hoping that someone knew what it probably meant.
Thanks,

if it looks like a light bulb it is telling you there id a bulb out , check marker lights as well as tail, brake, turn signals front and rear , head lights and fog , don't forget rear plate and backup lights ,,, you may need a helper or find a big store window to use
That won't help. Opening your owner's manual and reading about the instrument panel WOULD help.
Alright, I figured out that the drivers light closest to the latch is out. Is there an easy way to figure out the part number? I’ll probably just get two for when the other side goes out.

If you mean the headlights, they are all H7 bulbs. (Headlights and high beams).
H7 but get only 55W If the wattage isn't right you will melt plastic and cause wiring to get brittle; Thus do not use HID light bulbs.
Sylvania makes a reasonable priced H7 bulb available at most auto parts stores "SYLVANIA SilverStar® ULTRA "halogen bulbs, or Needswings sells PIAA which are excellent.

I wonder if he means the tag/license plate light?
IF so, NOW would be a great time to order two of the blue-white LED modules - they really dress up the car at night!
They were cheap garbage bulbs and closing the trunk was the cause of the failure. I only use the regular type Sylvania bulbs in there now.
.
Good luck!

I had LED lights in my license plate sockets. One night after being at a car show I had no dash lights. It turned out that one of the chips fell out of the LED and caused a short. Knocking out the dash lights and license plate lights.

I swapped out the LED bulbs for the license plate lights with conventional 6418 bulbs. I did a little comparison while I was doing this work. Turns out the LED bulbs were just slightly shorter than the conventional 6418 bulbs (naked eye probably wouldn't see the difference). I figure it was enough of a difference that the LED bulbs was slipping out of the plastic retainers in the light fixture with enough deck lid closures over time. That resulted in the LED bulb losing contact with the bulb holders & generating the failed exterior light warning light in the instrument panel.
Yeah - I've got a pair of the new housing & bulbs in my Crossfire Parts bin.
