Default Veteran's Day...

Thank you to those who have served and a special salute to those who never came home.

Here is a poem, it has a lot of meaning...

In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army

IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Lest us Not Forget

No doubt about it. There are lots of bad guys out there, and the brave men and women of our military forces are our first and most important line of defense against them. The personal sacrifices our armed forces make for those of us here at home are remarkable, commendable and worthy of the highest possible respect and the greatest possible honor and gratitude. If we ever forget that, then we will have really lost our way. So to all the vets out there, thank you so much for what you do and have done for our country!

Now you make me feel guilty for not posting here but I can tell you that I did copy and paste the poem and saved the photo to a file and combined them to send in an email to my many friends in my personal email address book some of which have served in the military. Your post has reminded all of us of our freedom. Thank You.
