Who has out run the cops?
We have a forum on speeding tickets but how about hearing stories from the members who oursmarted/outran the occifer in pursuit.
Actually I've outran the police twice....Once with my 1999 Mazda Protege, and one with my crossfire! It's just a matter of smart turns and poor judgement, because u better not get caught!!!!!!

Nope......not for me.......If I'm hauling A** and see a cop spot me.......I pull right over and wait for 'em! You have a much better chance of getting away with a "warning" if you don't make them chase you down.
BTW.....there's a surprising number of law enforcement employees on this forum.......hope they are not reading any of this!

I've never tried to out run the police. Until My XF I've only owned trucks.
I did hide in a lemon orchard once when I was 16 yrs old. I was returning home from a party and ran a stop sign out in the middle of freakin' nowhere at 1AM. I saw a cop car turn on his lights and make his way to pull me over. I made a quick turn, turned off my lights and pulled into huge orchard; I idled my way through dirt farm roads and then through many many many rows of trees, parked and slept in the bed of my truck.
I'm sure he didn't know if I went left, right or straight - sometimes being steath pays off better then being fast. For us High School'ers the orchards were the #1 place to meet. We would name the ranch and say 75/100.
That would be 75 rows from the entrance and 100 rows back - boom HS students having a party. Best part was we always had lemons for the beer.
32 years later I still drive by that orchard and get a chuckle. Ah yes - the good ol' days!

Just hope the cop didn't see your plates before you punched it because there's no way to outrun a two-way radio. You may have a nasty surprise waiting for you when you get home!
Ever watch a pursuit live on TV? Amazing how often the pursuee come upon an intersection and the cops already have it blocked off so nobody else enters the intersection and gets hit by the a$$hole running from them. That means with radios and helicopters the cops can get to where you're going to be before you even get there. In fact, around here, if the pursuee is driving exceptionally dangerously the cops will back off and the helicopters do the following. Between a bunch of radios, a couple of police helicopters and half a dozen news choppers, you ain't getting away.
Of course, if you'd rather forgo a simple speeding ticket in exchange for a failure to yeild, wreckless driving, wreckless endangerment, multiple run stop signs/red lights, etc AND the very real possibility of the cops performing a PIT Maneuver and screwing up your rear 1/4 panel (let's see your insurance cover you for damages incurred while you're running from the cops!!) and then having your car impounded and dumped in a lot where nobody really gives a crap about it - well, have a good time. I'll TIVO it so you can watch yourself when you get out of the big house.

Wouldn't try it for several reason but not 'cause of helicopters, that would be the absolute last of my worries. Every cop in town knows my car (including the 1 other town I drive through to get to work) plus I've never seen another Crossfire around these parts let alone a SRT. In this case I would expect a knock on my door. I'd pull over, wait for the lecture & then plead mercy.
Nuts. You can't outrun the radio. Also, they have vidcams on the copcar; if the license plate is readable on the vid, you're toast. The recording is both a tool to find you and evidence to convict.
Never tried to outrun police and never will. To much respect for them.
Just pull over, be nice and honest, and hope for the best. Just my .02

1974. Age: 16. Driving a: '70 Toronado GT. Speed at trap: 140 + mph (Max Speedo). Missed a ticket & jail by: ~15 seconds. I could see 2 more troopers approaching my last intersection in my rear view mirror. Do it again? Not a chance.

I do like the idea of an orchard oasis although i'd pick oranges over lemons
It was not of the TV variety police chase. it was more like his blood pressure rose, his uniform wearing ego became damaged, and he suddenly realized hed met the ghost rider..... No risk of lives...Unless he found my hiding place

got pulled over in texas with a calif drivers license they took me to jail for 15+ over the speed limit. then they tried to extract $175.00 from me for the fine I said no way. They said I would be spending the night in jail if I didnt pay. they finally let me go when they realized i was not going to pay the fine and wanted to see the judge. I also insisted that the sub station would need to be smoke free while I was in there or I would sue for being kept in a unhealhful enviroment as both troopers were smokers.
