Xfirenorth's gallery: sub album "Menemsha, a quaint village on Martha's Vineyard
I just created a sub album at "XFirenorth's Gallery" titled Menemsha, a quaint fishing village on Martha's Vineyard.
Menemsha is a place I've been visiting for over 30 years, and time basically stands still there. Nothing ever changes. It's probably one of the most laid back places on earth. Even movie stars, Hollywood celebs, US Presidents, etc., visit Menemsha and no one bothers them with the exception of the Clintons. Last year I had an article published in Martha's Vineyard Life, which dealt with Menemsha and its surroundings.
I hope my photos will give you an idea of what the place is like, and what I like to do with my summers on my boat, "It's Only Money". The bride and I love to cruise the islands off the coast of southern New England. Our cruisning time usually starts with Memorial Day and ends with Labor Day, give or take a few weekends on either side.
I'm planning a few more "sub albums" so you can see how beautiful it is in my area during the summers. Take a peek at the album and see what I mean.

that is spectacular! I have never been around the NE outside of NYC.
whens the best time to go and a great place to stay for about a week?

I have friends in Kingston NH and those pics remind me of a visit to Gloucester, MA.
It's a beautiful part of the US for sure and very scenic. As far as unchanged that makes me think of a little two pump gas station in Maine were the pumps still had the little reset lever on the side and the cash register inside the small station still had manual buttons and a wooden cash drawer.
I also remember the creeky wooden floors and the kind old man working there.
It is like a time travel back to the simple times and a very good memory of childhood.
