I was planning on going this summer, but because they have removed the SRT-6 from their line-up I have changed my mind.. as that was what drew me in.. in the first place..

Old thread revival, but . . .
I attended the SRT Track Experience at Michigan International Speedway yesterday. A buddy bought a '09 Challenger SRT8 and three of us were his 'non-driving' guests. I think it cost us 'non-drivers' $50 a piece to go.
It was great fun. Every car guy/gal should do it.
The lineup was:
Caliber SRT4
Charger SRT8
300C SRT8
Challenger SRT8
Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8
There were two Vipers but they were only used on the last event and driven by pro drivers.
Awesome to see and hear them though.
I was most impressed by the 300C SRT8 and the Jeep SRT8. The 300, at 130mph+, was the quietest and most easy going of them all. It was like we were only going 55mph or so. The Jeep was awesome. 425hp and AWD makes for a great combo. It stuck like glue in the corners and off the line. Plus 135mph in a Jeep on the MIS is amazing. I want one.
One of the instructors asked me if I was going to go out and buy a SRT vehicle after the event. I told him that I had a SRT6 Roadster and he went on and on about what great cars they are. I guess the word spread throughout the instructors that I had the SRT6, a few more of them came up and talked to me about them. One instructor said that when they discontinued the SRT6, they tried to 'blow one up.' He said they did crazy and incredibly harsh things to them, but they were 'bulletproof.' Anyone who talked about the SRT6 had great things to say about it. I did not hear one ill comment at all, which was nice.
All in all, it was a great day. They fed us, had SRT merchandise available, got to ride along with pros pushing these cars to their limits, etc.
It was amazing to see what any of the SRT vehicles can do.
There is a lot behind that little SRT badge.
Cheers.
RIP Sidez.

nice ole' thread...still trying to find a place down here for you guys, but no luck so far...I have access to cones and such...but need a good size parking lot...there is an old Air Base not far from me the SCCA uses, but haven't found out who to talk to yet...but, I think a day of play is deserving for us....
I went to one of the first few SRT Track Experience events back in 2006 and had a BLAST. That was the first time I drove a SRT-6 and it was on the road coarse at LVMS. After 3 1.8 mile laps in that car I told myself that I would buy one some day.
I did the SRT Track Experience in 2007 and posted my review here: https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...nce-twice.html
It was great and I intend to do it again someday.
What did you think of the Challenger?

My buddy loves his Challenger though. 'Course, he has a '69 Dart, '70 GTX 440, etc. so he digs 2 door muscle.
For me, the Jeep was the biggest surprise. It's amazing how fast that thing can hustle given its size. On the dragstrip, it was practically unbeatable. That AWD really helped it hook up.
Had one for 3 months, my semi seemed to get better mileage...and it was my daily driver...so, it went by by for a regular V-8 Jeep and a SRT6...I like this combination better...LOL but it was a cool jeep...and I really missed having a tow vehicle as well...
