Sometime back in the 90s I sat on a jury for a guy charged as a pedophile. During the jury selection, any woman who had a daughter under the age of 20 was excluded by the defense attorney. Not sure why he allowed us fathers with daughters to continue. The pedophile sexually assaulted a brother and sister who happened to be 10 and 11 at the time, the parents had left him in charge of them on a camping trip while they were partying and most likely incoherent. After we found him guilty we discovered he had been released from jail about 4 months prior for raping an 18 month old girl. That's not a typo, she was 18 MONTHS old! We had a few choice things we wanted to do to the guy.

 

Those kinds of people should be put away for the remainder of their lives at the very least. Raping an 18 month year old? If I was the father, and I knew who did it, the cops would have to find him before I did.

 

yeah, that's the kind of justice we really need here again. I'm serious. The courts have got this so out of whack, no pun intended, that this is part of our problem here today. The Framers would never have dreamed that their idea of having a court hearing would have been bastardized to this level.

reminds me of the case in MO quite awhile ago, where the town bully had been terrorizing the town for years, as well as his family that partook in that activity. one day, he was sitting at about the only redlight in town at lunchtime, and someone walked up to his truck and killed him on the spot. The police and FBI were all over that town, yet for an odd reason there were no witnesses at all-everybody said they hadn't seen or heard anything. Not one of them had been facing in that direction. To this day not one person in that wonderful little MO town has talked about the events of that day.

Anywho back on topic....
this makes me feel a little uneasy - don't get me wrong if someone touched my God-daughter in that way the police damn well better find him before me BUT the idea of vigilantism fills me with dread... it's not long before you get to the whole scenario of "witch trials" where people even suspected are executed (after-all there's no smoke without fire surely?)... this is something we suffer from in the UK as well and we really need to make the sentence fit the crime. Into minors? Life! Murderer? Life! Rapist? Life (oh and all with hard labour no sitting around playing your PS3 or somesuch)

 

i bet the fact that the family beat him up will be the reason he doesn't get any time and he may just well sue the family for their actions towards him.

we need some real reform about these crimes, no first time offense only getting a year or two hope you lerned your leason. 50 year mandatory up to the death penalty. but not the normal death penalty, find the most twisted S.O.B. in the prison system, the guy that makes Dhamer look like a Sunday school teacher and have him/her think of some ways to extract the means of these people using anymore of our oxygen.

 

This reminds me of an incident when I worked in the jail. Our dept. had warrants out on a guy for sexual assault of a minor, family members found him first and pulled up to the jail in a van. In the back, wrapped in about three rolls of duct tape, was the suspect! and had a severe azz beating as well!!
