Your next vehicle?
I don't like to have to admit it either, but there will not be any future generations of the crossfire so for those of us who use it as a daily drive we are going to have to buy something else eventually. What is you next purchase likely to be? I'm thinking a Lotus Exige in 2011. Right now the lowest model exige offered by lotus is supercharged, they must have done away with the n/a(i dont really follow the brand), hopefully they'll bring back the n/a by then. If not I guess I can settle for an extra 30 hp
I have to drive too much and too far to bother with electric, now I'm all for the switch to hydrogen, I dont see anything like that coming for a long time to come however.
Once I get a place where I can have multiple vehicles I'm going to get a tiny FWD econocar so I can save the SRT-6 until its worth more than I paid for it!
If I could afford two decent cars I'd look at a BMW 135 or a Pontiac G8 GXP to go alongside the SRT-6.
The one thing thats for sure is that it will have a manual transmission!

I was thinking ofg an HHR since I drive 120 miles a day. It get 30 mpg and is truck like so I can use it to around the house projects it is FWD so it must be decent in the snow. I just have to read the reviews.
I'm building it. Preferebly based on a late 60's early 70's Valiant/Dart platform. Megasquirt-N-Spark fuel injected slant six with a large single turbo, Keisler 5 speed, big brakes, and all the A body suspension upgrades I can find.
No emission laws pre-1975.

I plan on keeping the Crossfire for years. Also plan to buy my father-in-law's '94 Vette (as soon as he gets the itch to sell it to me) and get an old pickup truck (50s-60s) at some point.
I only live ~6 miles from work so my daily drivers last a good many years.

Good question......hmmmm.......
Like Maxwell probably electric. I'd love a Tesla but not at 96K though who knows, maybe I have a rich uncle.
I'll wait & see what comes down the pike. Every year we see more horsepower coming out of some manufacturer somewhere. Still, it's hard to beat the C-class Benz's.

I never paid much attention to the Prius, but I got one as a rental car, last month. We had three adults and luggage on a 450 mile trip. We averaged 48.7 MPG. I was impressed.
The new 2009 Prius will come out this fall, with a larger electric range and higher HP gas engine. It’s the 2010 Prius that I am waiting to see. It will have plug in capability, so if you plug it in every night you will basically have an electric car for the first 30 or 40 miles driven every day, but the gas engine can kick in as needed for faster acceleration or long range driving.
