I've never really been that interested in any Olympics but since watching what was probably the second half of the opening ceremonies, I've been enthralled by this year's games.
All politics and concerns aside, I was quite moved by the significance of China (represents 1/5th of humanity) making such an statement with a spectacular show Friday night.
It was really thrilling to watch Michael Phelps win his first gold medal of this years' games. He was heavily favored and all but the fact that he's been training for this since he was 11 years old is motivating.
