Default Does Northern VA salt its roads? (Thinking about bringing my XF from MN to VA)

Hey folks. For those of you who don't know me, I'm originally from Minnesota, but I'm spending the next year or so here in VA for work. I currently have my XF garaged in my home in St. Paul, but I'm getting crazy withdrawals from not having my precious sports car with me here. I miss the rush of torque and effortless highway cruising.

My question is, does VA ever salt its roads? I've avoided driving in the rain, snow, over puddles, mud - anything that could cause my car to rust. I don't want to bring the XF down here unless I can drive it year round, and so I don't want to bother if they salt the roads as badly as they do in MN.

yes. in the dc area they apply salt before, during, and after any predicted freezing conditions. and, in the event there isn't much snow, they start dumping the salt when it rains so they will make room for more salt the next year. chances are if snow shows up in the weather channel 10 day forecast, road crews will be positioned on the highways round the clock ready to spread salt.
