According to the Washington Times, there's a biological basis behind "truthiness".
Now all I have to do is wait for someone to blast that rag as "liberal"
in 3 ... 2 ... 1

Always the pragmatic, I am not convinced that humanist thinking has as much to do with genetics as being beaten up a lot as a kid.

If President Obama was Italian, this extortion would be under investigation for RICO violations.
"Ya see, I'm just a businessman, doin' a favor for another business man. capich? You take a this money, I give it to you no strings, a favor. No! no! Wasamatter?
Yo justa take the money and use it. Si! Si! A favor to me, one friend to another.
I do you a favor, no strings. fogettaboudit
Someday maybe I need a favor from you. Eh? Then we do good business together, everybody wins, capich?"
And so the TARP funded banks cave to the pressure of the godfather and soon get to take over that laundry business from the investment banks (who didn't take TARP) as well.

OK, Franc my one time getting into this...to solve the economy problems, as Prez, I would have done this...give every US tax paying citizen, 1 million dollars...that should be roughly 300 million, cheaper than a trillion...now everyone will spend their money differently, but most WILL spend it. Many will buy houses, housing problem solved, some will buy cars, car problem solved, and some will keep it, invest it, bank problems solved, all for 300 mill...and a whole bunch of happy people across the USA, including the crooks in DC, you see they get their million too....

You were doing so well, getting all mellow and nice. Now you will need to refill your blood pressure meds.
Soon I'll be explainin' agin' to Laura why you're so cranky.

Tonite at the annual Press club dinner, the President joked that he was named by Car and Driver "The Automoble CEO of the Year!"
Some Truthiness here.
Lets see how he did it.
UAW gets 55% of stock in the new Chrysler Corp
Fiat gets 35%
Diamler gives up all its Ceribus Stock.
USA gets 10% (?)
USA has paid $4.3 Billion from TARP so far.
It will pay another $3.2 Billion plus $ 4.7 billion later
Fiat got paid $ 35 million to show up and take the 35% ownership stake.
Fiat: How it got Paid to take over Chrysler | Industry News Blog at InternetAutoGuide.com
UAW gets one seat on the board
US Congress gets to name 4 (And yes there is a car Czar Steve Ratner)
Canada gets to name one.
Fiat gets three.
Ceribus and Diamler tie up their stock in a bundle and cast it adrift.....poof!
and it's gone. So are they.
Chrysler currently markets a crap ( or at least very weak) line of cars. This thanks to management by non car guys who also couldn't profitably sell lumber and power tools in a housing boom.
So, Fiat gets paid to take 35% of a so so car company
UAW gets 55% but only one board seat. Spent not a dime for it.
We the tax payers get 10% and four seats on the board for $12.2 Billion (so far?)
Who made this deal?
I worked for a company that bought, built and sold 12 corporations while I was there. This deal would not have seen daylight in front of my boss or I would have been sacked on the spot.
But then that was private enterprise, a whole different set of rules.
And values.
BTW, We have yet to see the community organizer business model for this miracle company.
Chysler ain't coming back guys. Sorry.

Once, We Would Have Called It a Scandal - HUMAN EVENTS
As the workers party steals our private industries and sells them to off shore interests or gives them to political al;lies, we can only stand back and watch as our free land becomes Orwell's hell.
A small piece at a time.
It gives me little pleasure to say it but, I told you so.
Dad, my generation, that you defended with your life, screwed it up. I am so sorry.

Fiat nudge nudge winks winks they'll flesh out range with Alfa-Romeos
Interesting looking cars ... the Brera GT reminds me of the mid-80s Isuzu Impulse ... even with AR's build quality it will likely run better. Cars like the 'Pulse put Isuzu out of the auto part of the biz in the US.
The difference between incompetent private and public sector employees? You don't have to give stock options and Yankee tickets to gov't employees to inspire them to do worse. Just mail'em 10,000 envelopes with a tablespoon of Coffee-mate in each

Who said 2009 wasn't going to be the "Year of the Weird?"

You continue to amuse, jesus, but you caused me to spit up my coffee with this one. I seems not thousands, but millions of truly middle-aged liberals have been unemployed since they dropped out of high school. A turkey-earned taste wonderfully more delicious than the food-stamp debit card variety.
All respect offered.

I'm just glad that Chrysler won't be liquidated. Hopefully, they'll use the time Fiat bought them to produce some great products so when this marriage falls apart they can stand on their own again.
