Default AMC and Karmann?

Sorry guys I don't know much about Karmann, just starting to pick up some info since I bought my Crossfire. I thought this was kool, I know (Mike?) should be able to tell us something about it.

James I bought a 3 spd Javelin in 1977, lime green, with those overly large fenders over each tire. My Dad was against it, I thought it was just fine. Drove it forever, it was a good car just large/long and I guess funny looking

I'm not exactly sure of what if anything Karmann designed. I believe they simply got the cars in disassembled form, and reassembled them for sale in Europe. Much the same way AMI did for AMC distribution in Australia.
