Auto Accidents & Insurance Firms
Reading the recent thread about Deborah Walker's car accident struck a nerve of mine. So I thought I'd put my thoughts down here rather than in her threadline.
I'm not a big fan of insurance firms as they've forgotten that the nature of their business is "risk taking" and they don't like it when an event occurs. Why they even try to make us believe it's our fault that a claim was paid out...they like receiving premiums, but they don't like processing claims.
And I don't even know (I really do) why they get so worked up because they are typically insured by the firms operating in the re-insurance business sector. Insurance firms for insurance firms! Can you believe that! I know this because my brother-in-law works for one of the larger re-insurance firms in the world.
So typically our insurance carriers get their money back. But like us, claims filed usually result in higher premiums, which they in turn pass on to us as original policy holders. So right now, there are several major insurance carriers out there that are considered a "bad risk" by the re-insurance sector. I put insurance firms (all kinds... health & medical, dental, car, homeowner's, life, etc.) right down there with lawyers, doctors, any & all government employees, and whale dung!
Sorry for the rant! And I don't mean to offend anyone that may belong to any of the above mentioned professions. I figure if you're in one of these employed classifications and also own a XFire, then you're probably an okay individual that just made a bad career move! ?*#! happens!
