Default Chrysler -- Fiat

Did you guys see this today? Interesting that Fiat will not put any money into Chrysler but wants them to last to 2012 when the Fiat/Chrysler models are due.....

Not one word about the line of electrics Chrysler planned to launch this year!

So Chrysler fans get to drive dinky, smokey little cars eh?
Sad.

What happened there Barry?

Interesting...to say the least. And Consumer Reports released this today:

Consumer Reports: Chrysler ranks dead last and Toyota's Scion places first in predicted reliability - Drive On: A conversation about the cars and trucks we drive - USATODAY.com

I have had direct contact with Consumer Reports - let me tell you they are full of it.
I would not give a cent for their opinion.

What kind of direct contact? I am not sure what your point is here. Direct contact generally means ... to meet in person. So, are you saying that you have visited the Consumer Reports headquarters, and via some negative interaction, now believe the company to be distrustful?

Fiat has a reputation.
Reliability should improve dramaticaly under the Italian auto maker's leadership.

I can't wait to see what they do with the Sebring.

Yes - Comsumer Reports conducted testing at a plant where I was employed.
They failed miserably and conducted specific tests incorrectly. These were critial tests use to verify fire safety standards. When we made them aware of the correct procedure we were basicially told they could test any way the wanted regardless of the federal safety standard.
Guess were all of the manufacturers that took issue with the test procedure finished...bottom of the pack on recommendations.

Wow.... that is very interesting. I guess independent research is a relative thing. Relative to whose interests are being represented. Well, I can't say that I am totally surprised by this.
