What is it...
I was doing some work for my Dad. This looked like a good photo to play with, so I croped (spelling) it really close. With all the CD's, DAT's, i-Pods, MP3's and other things, I wondered if anyone else would recognize this. No, there is not a prize. Just a walk down memory lane.
So, What is It?

Head off of a record player. Specifically the small portion at the bottom is the record needle.
Looks like its playing an old Etta James vinyl
Haha ok so maybe I couldn't tell what vinyl it was playing last.
Very nice macro, makes it a fun game.
EDIT: Now that I look closer I am having second thoughts.

High end audio used to be a big hobby of mine (until I realized I needed to start going outside more often!) and still love the sound of a well set up rotating table dragging a vinyl groove under a diamond tipped needle.
I still have my Technics turntable setup on the system in the living room so I can listen to my old albums when I feel the urge. It is quite a change from listening to CD's... some great old music....

I think you nailed it!
Rcompart's I-pod mod for nav units will allow the use of these in our cars.

And this is a photo of my work room setup that day I was converting Dad's vinyls onto CD's.

Hmmm. that explains why I can't hear very well anymore. Zep and hendrix and the Stones Hot Rocks with headphones.
