Disclaimer: I don't smoke.

It's a pet-peeve of mine that people who smoke think they can litter anywhere they please. They throw them on the ground everywhere. Why should everyone else pick up after you or be forced to see your garbage on the street, sidewalks, steps, grass, etc.? If you have to keep your addiction, then use the ashtray, and empty it out into a trashcan when it gets full.

On a side note, I generally dislike state cops since they basically spend the whole day trying to catch me speeding. So did you flip the cigarette butt out the window towards a cop who was on the side of the road running radar? If so, the cop probably took it personally. If you flipped the cigarette butt out of the window as a cop went by, ditto. It seems as likely that the cop figured you were doing it to them and so wrote a ticket as it is that the cop just didn't want you littering.

 

I was gonna say the sniffer sniffed a bad catalyic converter.

IT IS MY FAVORITE PET PEEVE!

I have been acosted by a policeman for getting out of my car at a traffic light, picking up and handing the smoker his butt. The same officer refused to cite the perp.

In fact he apologized!

All the while, he is standing on a pile of butts laying in the grass.

Smokers, you should have every right to smoke and anti smoking laws in restaurants and public places suck. That said, ya'll aren't helping your cause when you fail to realize that filtered cigarrette butts do not evaporate after use.

They are the number one item clogging the screens at the sewege treatment plant.
