Great new beginning to an old story. Glad you decided to get another.

Now for Gary to convince you two to come down to STL and meet many of the fine people who have been watching the story and hoping the best for you.

Steve, welcome to the forum, and I am glad that you found a suitable replacement for your baby. I replaced my CPS a couple of weeks ago. One word of advice I can give you is to remove the heat shield that attaches to the bell housing with 2 bolts prior to trying to remove the CPS. It will make the job so much easier. Also, if you have not purchased one yet, here is a great deal, and where I purchased mine. Your Parts Search Returned 1 Part(s).

I also bought one from the same websight as a spare.
It's OEM and ready if I need it.

Thanks to all for the GREAT comments.....Having a GREAT time once again with our 2nd Crossfire, and def. looking forward to joining the club, the support, and def. the meets. Jill and I have done some 2/3 day trips with the last XF, mainly around the smokey's. and Ohio river valley. Lots of up/downs and twisties to put the XF through. Almost lost my fav. hat going down a mountain side in VA, made Jill pull over so I could run back to retrieve it. It got run over a couple times, but still wearable. Drove through Mayberry with the XF LOL. That was a kick.
Jill and I are having a busy year this year. So loosing the XF didn't help. Our son is getting married July 30th at Pheasant Run to a wonderful girl. So we'll be "steppin out" in the XF. We would love to meet in St Louis with you guys. Jill thinks the Bridal shower (??) is in that date range, so if we can fit it in somehow, we’re there. My parents 50th Anniversary is also this year as well, no date/place made yet for the party. As you can tell, I'm a real car guy, don't really have an affiliation to any one mfg. Love all cars for the way they became something to drive, have fun with, and something beautiful to look at, from an initial ideal, to a drawing and finally turn-key. I always say, I'm not the smartest whip out there, but always willin to try. Live and learn, learn and live.
Can't wait to meet you all.......

Steve

Jill and I had just past our 28th wedding anniversary. The XF in the train accident was our 25th wedding anniversary gift to each other.
Our son is a teacher at St. Charles East HS here in Illinois. He’s in his 4th yr of teaching now. His fiancée is also a teacher in her 3rd yr.

To answer an earlier post, we weren’t planning on any kind of lawsuit against the city as long as we didn’t loose out bad. No lawyer will touch it unless personal injury, no personal injury, thank God. We figure we are going to be out about 3 to 5 grand. But we also gained a lot. 1st is this site and club, 2nd; the twin has less miles on her. I could not have her without the support of this site or club. 3rd Jill got the XF luggage I was looking for, to give to her as an anniversary gift in the future. She also received the org. windscreen with case and org. car cover with case. So we're really not sure if we are ahead $ wise, but def. know we’re ahead in ALL other area’s of having the XF. AND we love our little XF…She is a beautiful car to have. Who knows, maybe a gift to a grand kid if we still have her in 20 yrs or so.

Update:

I went and met Jill and Steve that lost their Crossfire to that train crash last month.
Had a 4 hour visit with them and all I can say is "Great People" and a smart guy when it comes to mechanical stuff.
His garage and driveway are filled with cars he is restoring and reconstructing !!!
Their (new to them) Black Roadster is very clean.
Previously owned by an older couple in Duluth, MN who are now expecting a grandchild and wanted a bigger car.
They drove it home Monday and are looking forward to some local GTG and possibly the CAA GTG in June.

A very smart woman to run 'toward' the train. I'm not sure too many people would be that clear headed in in that situation.

Yes, I'm the husband of the lady who lost the Crossfire to the train in Hinsdale.
She is OK, shook-up, even to this day.
We did replace the car, we just got in Monday from Duluth, MN

And now please Welcome Jill mysweetride to the forum.
Jill is the women who watched helpless as her beloved Roadster was hit by a train doing 70mph on a cold dark snowy morning in February.
She has just joined the forum as well and I just went and met her and her husband Steve today.
Some really cool people and new friends.

Saying goodbye to our baby..............
What she looked like at the scrap yard for state farm. Felt like I was at a wake for an old friend.
We had to go to get the wheel locks off her. Boy, it was heart wrenching to see her again.

As the tractor rolled away with her, couldn't but shed a tear. Not one usable part, except for the rear deck and spoiler.
Sorry to all the crossfire crowd, for this one is dead.
