Thirteendog, I agree with you. I hate the memorials and junk on cars. Then again, I would not put a bumper sticker on anything I own.
Franc and I have been here for quite some time. He's a good guy, that express his opinion and is very vocal about it. The thing about Franc is you know where you stand with him at all times. Makes it easy to know how to take his posts when you know him too.

Now John Booker, he's thinks he's a hotshot cop who walks around like his **** doesn't stink. The only reason he got a ticket at the Dragon was because he got cocky with the trooper, thinking that since he's a cop himself he'd get off.

It is always humorous to have people who can't argue the subject with any degree of value, choose to pick on someone's spelin' or typo's.

Broken and arthritic fingers along with bad eyes are not uncommon to many members. As someone who has these affirmities I have resisted the temptation to do so myself when others fail to properly spell or punctuate as they try to make a point in what is actually no more than a conversation.

Far more annoying is the use of Text messaging and acronyms which only insiders understand. For instance, What does "&shy" stand for?

Typing Franc for 50 or so years makes it hard to type frank without missing it once in a while. Typing on three or four different keyboards throughout the day makes it hard to do so without looking at the keys instead of the screen.

I considered the spell check thing. But as you know, I often type with intentional mispelin's so the screen is full of red lines anyway.

So, I thought about it and decided it was better to leave those, who can't put their( or there) thoughts together relative to the subject, an opportunity to participate. I will continue to misspell andletmywordsruntogether if for no other reason than to annoy and give such minds a feelin' o' purpose.

Enjoy.

I think it is even funnier that it was John Book that misspelled frankly, but you just assumed it must have been you.

I razz Franc on his spelling all the time, I use larger type so I can see it. The spell check does not use red lines like word processors or auto correction, but I figure it should be educational as well.
The spell checker lists options but some of the mistakes Ive seen must confuse it and the writer too if he's so far out.
I've heard that Franc is a stand up guy (from Beaner) and I must sit down with him one day and have him buy me a beer, well a single malt will be better, depends how stand up he is.

Single malt, Balmoral or Glenfiddich (18 year if you can find it)
Neat!

There is a blend I will drink called "Pinch" Very smoky, very dark. Hardly ever see it anymore.

Ya'll know that the Scots invented wiskey to keep the Irish "froom rulin' da worlt"

I am so glad they did.

But I drink it soley for it's medicinal properties.

The stand up thing is conversly relative to the medicinal needs. So sometimes, I am not such a stand up guy.

As for the thread, It offends me that everyone is so offended and that someone would use the word beaner where Beaner might read it and to top it all off not use stellchecker ! LOL

Interesting question and I still wonder the same thing but here's one answer for you. I was at a car show a few weeks ago and I see a beautiful new 2010 Camaro, silver SS, no stripes, Callaway model. Beautiful car, supercharged, awesome car. has to be in 50k plus range. Couldn't find the owner to talk to him about the car. So I am at a show this weekend and I run into the car and the owner and we are talking and he tells me about how the car came to be.... " my grandmother was real sick and I used to visit her, one thing led to another and she asked him what he really wanted in life and he said one of those new Camaro's would be really sweet but no way I could ever afford it". Apparently she passed and left him the money to buy the Camaro so in the back window is the dedication to his grandmother. Kind of sappy but sweet.

When you mentioned Pinch I thought it was a nickname for the Dimple brand, but I see it is called Pinch in the US and Dimple everywhere else.
So I guess you would drink Dimple in a pinch.

Oh com'n John. We have a gold fish that we've had for more than 5 years that just won't die. He has survived so many incidents that I think he has nine lives. He survived being put in scourging water (by accident), over fed with 1/2 box of fish food by my wife's niece, jumped out of the bowl onto the floor, our dog put in his mouth and played with it, leaving it in the next room on the carpet for who knows how long. My wife took it and put it back in his bowl and started swimming again. And still living. The darn fish just wont die.

Tell me you don't want to know when he dies.....

Read this thread last night. This afternoon while leaving work there was a MB E500 in front of me with some writing on the back window. I expected it to be a curtesy car declaration from a local dealer but when I got closer I began reading "In Loving Memory.....". Thought of this thread and had to chuckle at the coincidence.

I passed on TMS 'cause I figured they wouldn't let ya'll go fast.

I had no idea I missed out on this.

I'll be there for the next one.

Where is your restaurant? Maybe we could make it a location for a DFWXfires GTG.

Simply Fondue Sundance Square is in the heart of Fort Worth's downtown area. We are located at the corner of 4th and Houston Street. Click the link in my signature to see the website. We have a private room that seats 36. When I had my Audi we had a North Texas Audi Group gtg. We put Cannonball Run on all three of the TV's in that room and had a great time. I would love to see you all down there sometime!
