Smile Help Please: Roadster Roof Sticking

Hi
Im from the other side of the pond as they say, in London England.
Have had my Roadster for nearly 3 years, love the car.
And in the UK it costs a fortune to run.
In the past few weeks my roof has started sticking sometimes on the way down, when i put it back up its fine.
So I dont think its the motor as would stick both ways?
Have been told it could be a Micro Sensor which there are a whopping 20 of have been told. 20 is that for real?
So a main line dealer want £60 each for them, and £100 to check it on the computer.
To check the roof sensors do you need to check on a computer?
Funny enough this weekend its worked fine, has anybody had this problem?
Just want to know so I dont get ripped off by a dealer.
Am often in the States, last year went to Boston and New York was surprised to only see one Crossfire the whole time and that was not a Roadster, where have they all gone?
hope to get some replies, thanks for reading

By "sticking", do you mean just coming to a halt? Or slowing down/making strange sounds?

It will stop and start beeping, the same noise it makes when its finished its operation. If you turn off the car and leave it for a few minutes than try again it will work. It always goes back up without a problem, just sometimes stops as it goes down.
It had happened once and my gf pushed the back part back and it worked fine so does seem if its a sensor problem, maybe dirty or needs changing.
Does the roof really have 20 Micro Sensors?

thanks for the quick replys

Used to just turn the key than open the roof than fire up the engine, but since the 1st time it stuck on me, always do it with the engine on

There is a maintenance schedule for the motor, hydraulic fluid and lubrication. I think you can check the fluid level visually. Beats me?
