Renting a cabin near Helen, GA with friends...

Swimming, hiking, Saturday night dance (featuring my stand-up mime routine! ) - a weekend of WONDERFUL FALL WEATHER is forecast with near zero chance of rain all three days. How can you beat THAT?

Oh, and...
We will be touring downtown Helen, Georgia on foot Sunday. A pretty and unusual Bavarian town (like Frankenmuth, Michigan).

I'm headed out the door to a weekend in North Georgia - hiking, swimming, fun friends - and the most AWESOME weather forecast ever: 3 days of about 81F for a high and 67F or so for a Low - ZERO chance for rain!!!!

How can we be this lucky on a holiday weekend?

Happy weekend, to all!

Well I have to agree, this is a great weekend.

The low pressure front from the MidWest moved this way quickly and kept the hurricane about 100miles offshore...We haven't seen a drop of rain, it as been sunny and gorgeous outside, the front cooled it off a bit. High of 76 today...Too bad I'll be inside all day watching opening weekend of college football..

Why?

Pretty much everything is more fun than sitting in a bar with a bunch of drunks.

Agreed. They did some drinking up here at the resort last night, out of 75 or so people, only two got drunk ... fortunately, one drunk (a lady) was about the FUNNIEST drunk I've ever met!

I don't mind drunk people until they hit the stupid moron zone, and there always seems to have to be one or two that do.

Oh, man! It's 77F with 38% humidity here in the North Georgia Mountains near Helen, GA!

What awesome holiday weekend weather we are having!

I hope everyone else is doing as well as us - not a rain drop (or I bet even a cloud) within hundreds of miles!

We spent the day and evening on the bike. Rode around going nowhere for a while, stopped at a small town festival (Yorkville) for a bit, rode down to a park near the river - napped under a tree, took a walk, went back to the festival to see a band we like. We were too tired to stay for the fireworks, so we left just a bit before they started and missed the line of cars trying to all get out at once.

Oddly, we got rained on for a couple of minutes, even though there wasn't a cloud that looked like it might produce some rain. The sun was shining the whole time.

Overall, a very cool day & night.
