The Taming of Three Wild Kittens!!! Vicious
OK so my mom adopted a stray cat with three legs.... the cat had three kittens. So today, me being a glutton for punishment,
decided I would capture these wild beasts and take them home and try to get them tamed so they at least have a chance at having a home. Trapped them, not a problem, NOW the fun began.... getting them out of the trap and into a carrier.... so I donned my leather gloves, open the trap door, and reached in and pick up the first one, this one was not too bad, no scratches, she is called Sweetpea....reset the trap, caught the second one, leather gloved hands reached in for this one, and all hell broke loose, this one scratches my arm pretty bad, but I finally got it into the carrier, his name TAZ, now the third one was trapped... and with great hesitation I reach inside and grabed her.... JESUS CHRIST HELP ME, this one went totally crazy, twisting, turning, biting and scratching..... bit completely through the leather glove and into my finger, where she held on until I released her into the carrier... her name - TWISTER. duhhhh
So as my mom is doctoring my wounds, she says, why don't you just let them GO!!!!!!! OMG...... LOL..... I told her if I did that in about 6 months she would have so many feral cats, they would take her over.
So now these devil like creatures are at my house, and now I have to figure out how to get them out of the carrier and into a cage..... was not too bad but took a while, and I sure wasn't about to touch them again!!! One good bottle of water squirt at them sent them running out of the carrier! Wheww... so now the fun really begins in a couple of days after they have got use to the sounds of being inside and seeing me, and talking to them... I will begin what I think is not going to be any easy task. Geeze what have I got myself into!!!???

You are aware that people do not train cats
You are aware that people do not herd cats
Cats tolerate their human subjects only because they do not have thumbs and therefore cannot open the bag from Purina.
Or, in my case, the can that says Chicken of the Sea on it.

But, but... they don't stand a chance without me... If I have to, I will keep all three! Thelma & Louise won't like it much... but ya'll I HAVE TO, I can't let them just die! I can't.
I know I am too soft hearted. But, what if, just what if, God is watching. They are just little babies.

And you now have three free kittens.
Betcha' can't say that fast free times.
Get them spayed or nuetered and the front claws removed. They'll be pissed for about a week and then they will sit on your lap and look innocent and sweet. Those eyes, those soulful sweet trusting eyes. BTW, it's now too late but, don't ever look directly into their eyes. That's how they hypnotize you.
Now all you have to do is teach them how to empty the litter box. Of course this assumes you can teach them how to USE the litter box.
(Mine is going on twenty. we are still working on the litter box thingy. Yeah, I looked into her eyes.)
UH. Deborah, wouldn't a man be easier? I mean at least we can be potty trained. Well sorta.

And our eyes are usually trained a little low so you don't have to look into them.
See. Safe.

LOL I am going to TRY not to get too attached to the three of them, but they are sooooooo cute!.. will take a pick tomorrow of my three little devils!!
I will see that they each get a good home!! I can't control the Mustang thing, but THIS I can control... lol or at least I hope so. At the very least it takes my mind off the car situation. God works in strange ways
and I prayed that he would send me a way to forget about the car and low and behold the kitten thing happens and I have someone looking at the Mustang in the morning.

Just remember rule number three about kittens.
They all turn into cats.

Most cats are smart enough to realize where the food comes from, so that gives you an edge. Couple that with the fact that you are smarter than all cats and you have a big edge.
The hard part is making the cat understand that you are smarter.
You can have a cat for ten years but if someone down the road feeds it food it likes better, it's gone. That happened to us once, the cat was gone for weeks and then my mother saw it and got the lady who thought it was stray, to stop feeding it. It was back home the next day.
One time it came home with an identical black cat and we could not tell which one was ours. We scared them both out the house and one came back, we assumed it was ours but we were never sure.
Look in a cats eyes and you have no clue what they are thinking, maybe things like 'I wonder what he tastes like', but you'll never know.
I like cats because they have attitude.

LOLI know what you mean! TOTALLY.... but can I just let them be gassed, I can't, I just can't do it. They are way too cute... and I will keep you all apprised of the progress, I will prevail!!! On this, I will not fail... one may actually have a home with me, but I can't keep all three.
Right now they are all asleep and content, they have FINALLY calmed down and I sing to them "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and it makes them fall back asleep, so is good they are getting use to a human voice.

I have a feeling THIS is going to be a journey and they are here to teach me about trust!... I will keep you all informed about this venture. Can I tame them, who knows?... I will try very hard in order to give these three kittens a good home. Funny it is three~!!
Everything in my life is in terms of three... I live at 111 .... my birthdate is June..... my email is 33111, a three legged cat, had 3 ktttens... whom I adopted on 9. 12 ... lol do the math, divisible by 3...
Was meant to be, they were sent for me. So I will tame them and get them good homes!
I know this all sounds very weird, but there is a connection somehow...

I only did it because i was tired of seeing dead kittens in the road behind the mall. Those kittens will make great pets for someone. Kudos to you, from an animal lover
I so far, am still unable to approach them without getting hissed at. Afraid to put my hand anywhere near therm... One I have be able to touch a little, but that is as far as I've gotten so far.

While they will never admit to it, cats thrive on attention. But they bargain for it like Bedoin camel traders.
Sounds like these guys are older kittens 'cause really young ones are fairly easy to handle.
They will settle with time. Let them come to you.
Mine has her own "room" in the green house, picture window to view a bird feeder and several shelf beds that get direct sunlight in winter and AC in the summer. Water, Purina ONE five feet away and canned tuna twice a day.
I took her from a cold nasty barn. I don't think she ever forgave me but she does sit on my lap evenings and insists on FOX news.
I get even by playing NPR on her radio during the day. Drives her crazy.

9 Weeks is safe, any much older and you get into the I cant be trained mode.
Nick is 10, helped me recover from the open heart surgery. Front claws and never uses them, we had a discussion early on. Lap Siamese, totally a shoulder cat, likes the pc when I type he is on my arms.
Hank rescue 3, we really enjoy this one cause he is a Hellion and into everything. Has the highest IQ.
Ratt Bert AKA RB is 1+ and loves to run after the others, sleeps on my feet, Rescue from WVA #2.
At this point all my cats know their names -Nick and hank will come when called ( mostly ) and they speak when spoken to, ahhhhhhhhhh no bitching or complaining about the riggors of the day. Peace.
Enjoy and consider electric cat boxes, Woody
