Default New Toy...

As some of you may know, I'm a tool junkie. I freely admit this, I hide nothing, I'm hooked. Recently was offered a chance to pick this up for what I consider a steal. The new addition to my collection... Unimat SL1000 mini lathe and mill combination tool. It's in very good condition, took it all apart down to the bearings, re-lubed and adjusted everything. Runs like a new sewing machine, now to figure out some projects.

That's if I can just find a supplier for materials to play with, other than precious metals, plastic, or wood (my other hobbies, and tools to go along with them ).

You could turn down supercharger pulleys if they fit on it!

Thanks Doc, I'll keep that in mind. I'll try to see if I can find a local hobby supplier of some sort. I do appreciate the offer though.

I hope her clothes don't smell too bad when she comes home.

Terry, looks pretty nice, now find something amazing to make, I have no doubt you will.

Also, I need to talk with you regarding a new console cushion, this time in leather to match the interior

you can find machining stock on Ebay, some are even random lots. Here are some examples for searching.

aluminum round stock, aluminum bar stock, aluminum bar, aluminum flat stock, aluminum tube, aluminum plate

First full length project, besides playing around learning the machine...

I present - The Million Dollar Pen

MillionDollarPen1.jpg

Turned from an acrylic infused with shreaded US Dollars, aluminum coupling, and ebony nib and cap.
And the best thing, I designed it to use BIC pen inserts. They'll write every time, and there cheap to buy ($2.29 for a 10 pack).
