Did you know about this?

I'll have to start looking around-there's a really cute redhead down the street...

Yet just another example of "unintended consequences".

Like the guy said, IF you know about it, you can search images for the one taken near a certain location... but if you DON'T know about it... you can unintentionally post private information on the internet and expose yourself.

No, I did not know about this.

.
Expose yourself?
Please, please, keep that raincoat buttoned up.

That photo of your favorite possession can give the location where the photo was taken within a few yards. So be careful.

I knew about this.

Did you know your printer probably prints a hidden code which identifies it *specifically* to *your* printer?

There were concerns that the new color printers were good enough to print decent counterfeit cash. To counter that, each printer is made to print an ID mark, specific to the printer (it would be something as simple as 3 red dots in a specific location, such as upper left corner). Not all printers did this, and I don't know if they are still doing it or not, but... just another one of those things.

is this really true and possible? been researching about secret codes that can be used in identifying the printer and the person who used it. laser printers are more prone to this since they're designed to print invisible tracking codes on printed pages which reveals what printer printed the document. but i have not seen one..

If they are invisible they are definitely hard to see.
I have yet to spot something invisible in 70 odd years.
