Hi everyone. not trying to start anything here more of an information mission!

I am trying to get a hold of a forum member that I had struck a deal with to puchase a 74mmThrotal Body from. I sent him a Money Order through the post office as he specified that is all he accepts, I have tried to P.M. him a few times now with no retun reply I tried to E-mail him again no reply, if I read things corectly he has not been on the forum since May 17th if anyone knows this individual and could contact him to e-mail me back I would apreciate it!

This is the last thing I wanted to do as it just does not feel right to complain, but he is aware that I was sending a money order for his part and even if he hasen't received it yet I would have think he would have contacted me to see why!

Somthing stinks

Please if anyone knowes of "Charmander" his name is Ty, or Tyson, or Letica which is who I made the money order out to!

He lives in Brownsville Texas.

Don't know him/her, could be out of pocket for a few days. Still 3 separate threads since Jan for this part seems a bit strange.

 

Hate to be the bearer of possible bad news but ...... Charmander purchased a 74mm throttle body on eBay that was the wrong part number, 0025 not 0125 at the time he was saying they could be modified.
Maybe he decided to sell "a 74mm throttle body" but his conscience would not let him sell a dud. This way he gets his money back and he does not let you have a useless throttle body.
Of course I could be wrong, but he has not posted since selling this TB and a $100 is a $100 to some people.
I always look at a persons previous posts before judging them. Read his posts and you see what he purchased.
I really hope I'm wrong, but he owes you a reply at the very least.
Get his name if you can and an anonymous call to a local police department could get him rousted on suspicion of anything you could dream up, like larceny across state lines. That's a joke of course.

 

Ya I now understand a little more about "why Paypal" I'm still a very honest and follishly trusting individual that would not think of ripping anybody off, its not so much the money, but now I want this thing and am wondering if I should just try to cancel the money order and source it elswhere!

Of course our pathetic post office is of little assistance, when I purchased the money order I was told to keep my receipt in case there was a problem, when I asked them if they can tell be if it was cashed I received a blanc stare!

 

This company told me they had a lot of these parts and were going to reprice the package shown on this package to start at $99 with a buy it now price $120.

One set went for $105 or so. You could contact them. I do not know if they ship to Canada though.

Thank you Dave should have checked with you first! I was to late, I had ordered the part than spoke to Beaner and he told me you knew of a place to get them!

I will give it a week, I will also see if there is somthing the Post office can do in the event it has not yet been cashed.

 

yeah, I know the feeling. I think good advice as given before is that look at the see the sign up date, see the number of postings, pay thru paypal and then decide how you want to go forward.

I think that alot of folks sign on to various forums because they have some items to sell, and then vamoose when they're gone. they come across as if they own the car, but underneath it you can sense they either don't, or they've got some supply of parts for it and they could care less about the car or it's members on a forum.

I have a feeling that most of the folks on here I would implicitly trust based on comments, involvement etc. But then a newbie shows up, and that is somewhat automatically granted without the benefit of experience. Says alot of good things about you!

BTW, it is a federal crime, and you can report it to the Post Office General because it did cross state lines. trust me on this, as that happened to me on a boat from FL. I got all my money back over time, but I DID get it back. It was either that or I told his attorney I would be filing federal charges. How would you like to pay me back? LOL!

 

well, I know I am very trusting, and would never say or do anything I had no intention of following through on! but hey thats me! I have chalked it up to a life experiance, it won't change me, but it is why I only buy what I can see in person, touch ,feel and investigate! but its hard to do everytime! I will find a reputable vender and buy the part I need!

 

I always hate hearing stories like this, as I am the trusting sort also. I have sold and purchased many items through this forum with no issues so far. I am currently doing a purchase/swap combo with a member. I have found what works for me is to only do business with long term and reasonably active members of the forum. Anyone that has been on here and active for a year or more will most likely not try to jack you over a bit of money. Sorry for your experience, but do not let it jade you from jumping on future deals from our dedicated members.

 

Thanks for the thoughts, I won't let it get to me, just some punk trying to get rich $100 at a time, pitty you would have to stoop low enough to steel!

I have also learn't a lesson, probably not the last but non the less!

 

Really hope it not the same guy in Texas that ripped me off
