The advantage would be that you could use the same .45ACP ammo in the Uberti carbine and your Kimber. The ring takes the place of the rim on the .45 Long Colt. If determined to be compatible, you might be able to find full or half moon clips if you looked hard.

Here is a pic of an original World War One Colt Model 1917 with .45 acp ammo in half moon clips.

Have a TI .22 can
Never converted the SP-89,
Kicking around selling it, which is why it's apart.
Talking myself into this

Dumb question time. How are you getting pics to directly display in your posts? The only way I get pics in my posts is to use the Manage Attachments option and that only adds links to my pics.

An inquiring mind wants to know.

Open it

Download & hit img

Chuck it on here.
If you don't have smart phone,
Same can be done from computer.

I was going to post a pic of my S & W .357 mag pistol, but some of the comments went beyond target shooting so I'm gonna keep it holstered. When I read people saying things like "it'll drop someone without having to aim" or "it conceals really well" or "yeah, I carry it in an ankle holster," and I'm thinking,"Where the hell do you live, Baghdad?"

Seriously, how may opportunities do you have to "drop someone" or use an ankle holster? It's like the run on Kevlar-penetrating rounds a while back. Who the hell needs to penetrate Kevlar in the defense of their daily routine? Wow.

I'll target shoot all day long. Shotguns, pistols, rifles and I have plenty of each. It's the cult of fantasy-killing people that I can't wrap my head around.

Its not about killing people, its about having the ability save the people you care about.

Two of my Curio and Relics. Feels good to get a pistol mailed right to my door. Especially in Maryland where we normally have to wait 7 days for handguns. A Yugo Tokarev T33 (7.62x25), and a Czech Cz82 (9x18 Makarov)

Check that. I just noticed that you live in Baltimore, sorry. Ever thought about moving and saving on ammo? And paranoia? I mean, I can't speak for you and your family, Romio, but there's a lot of this country out West and lots of places to put down stakes and live a relatively safe life. 'Course, in Idaho, you have to keep an eye out for them damn pesky Arayans and their guns and ammo and clips and laser sights and exploding bullet tips and ankle holsters and on and on. And Arizona has become a frontier territory again where everyone from the postman to the baker is packing "stopping power" for some reason. And in Utah, they just made the 1910 Browing .45 the "State Gun," so that's out. Lemme see. . .maybe, oh, I don't know, how about Fargo? They can't fill the jobs they have available, low crime rate because thugs hate the cold, re-locating expenses paid, benefits. . .damn!

LMAO.....got to love it.... I have an old counter-sniper buddy on the Baltimore PD... He and his 7mm Mag is impressive... Nothing wrong with owning guns fellas. I'm a Benefactor Member of the NRA for a good reason. Stay safe, and locked and loaded... But, I'm not showing you my guns, unless you come visit of course. You had better hurry though, career is coming to an end, and I'm selling some of them now to finish the cars. Latest to go is my Daewoo .223. Only 800 imported into the US...hate to see her go, but she is going to another officer's collection.

I do want to get out of Baltimore, probably to Northern VA, never had to use a gun against another person, and never plan on it, I mostly hunt and target shoot, but having the option of defense is better than not. And its not the 1910, its the M1911...

I carry a .45 Colt 3" most of the time off duty, and once in awhile my Glock 23. On duty, we all carry Glock 22's. The patrol cars all have a version of the Colt carbine in .223. I don't carry one of those as I am now assigned to the County Hospital for security duty. They don't think we need that much fire power around the campus. We can call for back up if needed. Shotguns are getting more scarce, but still my favorite weapon to grab first for building searches.

doc, my two favorite pieces in my tiny collection are my Dad's old police and highway patrol guns. His center-hump mounted Model 97 sawed-off Winchester 12 gauge pump and the S & W .357 magnum. When he came home from the South Pacific and applied to the police department, they tried to give him a standard-issue .38 Special and he said, no, I'll buy my own pistol, thanks. Hand cannon!

The shotgun is illegal for civilian use, but I will tell you that to hit a jackrabbit on full run across a desert at 80 yards, all you had to do was aim in the compass direction and a wall of shot would go out. "Rabbit, due East.. .BAM!" Dead wabbit.

Yeah, I remember the .357 days. You knew you qualified at the range. You didn't have a feeling left in your hand after 180 rounds...lol...
